Not for me. They do it so frequently that it loses its impact. If you shout after most of your routines or ask for audience cheers after most of your routines, it doesn't get me excited. I loved seeing the way that Ilia and Isabeau responded at the end of their programs at Worlds because those reactions were special.Does anyone think the mens is more exciting because of how after each program each man goes all carnival Barker lol for lack of a better phrase to the audience where the women do not?
If Simone looks really happy after a routine, then I know it's because she did great, and I love seeing that. I don't need for her to shout for me to be excited. IMO, the standing ovation after her vault yesterday was even more special because she did not ask for it.
Also, one of the reasons I like watching the women is that they are simultaneously demanding a lot of themselves while also being supportive of teammates and friends. What happened to Kayla yesterday was horrible, but it was nice to see that Suni cared and nice to see Jordan then being there for Suni. I don't think the men are cutthroat and they do congratulate each other, but I don't get as strong a sense of camaraderie from them.
