2023-24 Challenger Series

But for the Italians skaters I would think at least that the possibility to go to other international competitions are easier and more likely. It´s hardly any international senior B events for Canadians without crossing oceans, it´s hard to believe that the cost of sending skaters to a Challenger they host themselves, can be more costly than sending them to Europe to do senior B events or so. We have seen it in the last couple of seasons, a lot of Canadian skaters don´t get international competition experience. And without experience it´s hard to do well when they finally get a chance in major competitions. I would believe the cost of sending skaters to Europe was part of the reasons, but when you see now that they don´t even grab the chance when they host themselves, it´s just sad. They should at least give 1-2 more skaters a chance in each discipline.

To compare, Norwegian skating Fed hasn´t really be sending a lot of skaters to Challengers either, because they require a certain level to have earned it. But this season they are finally sending some ladies to early Challengers because they showed good results last season (Risa Gomez and Kilsand). Despite this, they have in the recent years sent a lot of skaters, both in senior, junior and novice level at all levels to senior B competitions in Europe to get experience.

Norway is even considered a small fed, and for me, at least, I did use to consider Canada as one of the big skating feds. It´s just so strange to see them not giving the skaters a chance to compete internationally, particular when they are hosting a event themselves which solves the issues of expensive travel costs.
Easier and cheaper to tell them they can compete at Cranberry Cup if the skaters are willing to foot the travel costs and entry fees on their own. ;)

Color me a bit surprised that DavSmo aren't going to Autumn Classic. Yes, it was guaranteed to be an IAM-heavy lineup what with ACI being held in Montreal this year, but I would have thought they'd want to give it a go and see how they match up with some of those teams.

Well we already know they beat your lovelies Carreira and Ponomarenko whenever they will go up against each other.

I've read enough fanfic to know this is going to turn into love one of these days
Love triangle with a Canadian stalker trying to steal Christina away from Anthony. And, in true, soap opera/fanfic style, Anthony rescues her from the crazy stalkers clutches and then they skate to Olympic and Worlds triumph. Lolololol

imagine the fluff pieces though
