You just can’t accept that s/k have become a great team. Just can’t accept it.
Because they haven't.

To act like 3 other teams can beat them is just being hateful
Believe it or not,ice dance is a sport, dear. It is within the realm of possibility your favored Russians could make an error at the Olympics. That ill-fitting billowing shirt is ripe for wardrobe malfunction. To act like 3 other teams can beat them is just being hateful
How can an insult have gender? This is news to me. I certainly hope you find my insults to be feminine, demure and soft.gendered insult
We were so close this past weekend and yet the element where they nearly fell because of the shirt still received positive GOE. Hard to call it a sport when the judges aren't judging what's happening right before their eyes.Believe it or not,ice dance is a sport, dear. It’s always the same extremist Russia haters who attack all the Russian frontrunnersS&K have improved over the past 2 years, especially her. I don't have any issues with their World silver in 2019,nor their World title last season.
This year , however, their programs and packaging seem to leave much desired and the skating and judging of Grand Prix Series has left a bad taste in quite a few people's mouths.
No it’s not. It’s just the only excuse given whenever people read what they don’t want to read. I tore apart P/Cs FD because of the last 45 seconds not moving anywhere and I really dislike the packaging of both programs for S/K. Guess I hate them all. It’s always the same extremist Russia haters who attack all the Russian frontrunners
Thank you, dear. God bless and Merry Christmas. It’s always the same extremist Russia haters who attack all the Russian frontrunners
Indeed. There is profanity underneath your name, please delete. Perhaps you have been hacked by "tears of the haters".Guess I hate them all.
Oh dear. One of these listed "gendered insults" is my pet name for Mr. Bottems.Since you asked, @Brenda_Bottems . The hissy in hissy fit derives from hysteria.

Gendered insults need to stop
I don’t have a problem with criticizing other people when it’s warranted, but bringing gendered words into it is unnecessary and creates a harmful social dynamic.www.breezejmu.org
Oh please spare me the anti Russia hatered b.s, it’s the laziest most juvenile reply ever. It’s almost impossible to love figure skating and hate the Russians, they are the biggest and most influential skating nation and have contributed to some of the biggest skating stars in the history of the sport. It’s always the same extremist Russia haters who attack all the Russian frontrunners
Finally, someone said it!Oh please spare me the anti Russia hatered b.s, it’s the laziest most juvenile reply ever. U/Z are my all time favourites and got me into the sport but S/K’s material is awful and their marks behind ludicrous. If they weren’t from Russia, there’s not a chance in hell they would be getting the marks they get. That bullshit Graz 2020 victory started this whole charade where they are suddenly in the same conversation as P/C. In their wildest XXX rated dreams will they ever be 10% the skaters that P/C are, cheated results don’t make it ‘legitimate’.
Did u actually watch that free from Sochi? Hunched shoulder twizzles, twizzles bobble at the end of the midline, trip coming out of stationary lift, a curve lift where he looks like he wants to actually die, a rotational lift where he looks he’s going to drop her and then the Piece de Resistance, that iconic choreo character step, utterly laughable.
Spare us the anti Russian propaganda, no nation manipulates scores and buys other small satellite nations in a more brazen manner, they’ve cheated and manipulated their way to 100s of undeserved results. That World title Domnina Shabalin won in 2009 is one of the worst skating moments I have witnessed in 30years, he literally limped through 4 minutes, then they gave them an Olympic bronze too lol! Let’s not start on G/G bronze at the 2006 Olympics ( Ukraine aided by Mother Russia). Vikki and Nikki are on their way to make those 3 aforementioned results look palatable. We’ve really drifted away from the purpose of this thread, I’m checking out of it now.
I’d add s/k at their best are better than h/b but I’m sorry to say h/b’s free in terms of composition, choreography and many of the req elements, is far superior. Sadly we operate in a sport where it’s unthinkable for a couple ranked 8 or 9 to beat a couple ranked 1, like it’s sacrilege or something. Yet it happens in all 3 other disciplines with no scandals or issues.Anyone who reads any of the pbp threads for any dance comp with PapCiz in it will know that I'm not an uber of theirs by any stretch, but this weekend, after some of the folks who watched the NBC broadcast of Rostelecom got up in arms over Tanith forgetting that PapCiz also have an FD to classical music, I went and watched Hawayek/Baker, PapCiz and SinKats FDs, in that order. To say that it was eye-opening is an understatement. I love H/B and their FD is just beautiful this season but watching P/C right after them, it's so clear that P/C spend way more time in close, dance holds and move across the ice much faster than H/B. Then, to watch S/K immediatley after P/C - again, there just isn't any comparison. S/K are definitely better than H/B but what they're doing is far less intricate than P/C. It will be a damn shame if P/C lose to them in Beijing or at any other competition this season.
Anybody remember Bestemianova and Bukin?I have to say, given the skill level and the programs, if P/C are clean, if they somehow lose, it will be the biggest robbery this sport has ever seen and we’ve seen big ones.
In my experience, people make these type of statements right before the team they are lauding doesn't skate clean; and then people complain when that team is overmarked despite the mistakes.I have to say, given the skill level and the programs, if P/C are clean, if they somehow lose, it will be the biggest robbery this sport has ever seen and we’ve seen big ones.
Very true, but at least they had too compulsories, power, and speed speed and more speed. SinKats have nothing over PapCiz.Anybody remember Bestemianova and Bukin?
If P/C had competition closer to what P/C provide in skill level (FD taste notwithstanding), then I’d change my stance. But nobody competing at the moment is close to them, that much is obvious. In my experience, people make these type of statements right before the team they are lauding doesn't skate clean; and then people complain when that team is overmarked despite the mistakes.
I like Papadakis & Cizeron's RD this season and don't like their FD. (True for Hubbell & Donohue, Gilles & Poirier, and Stepanova & Bukin as well). I don't question that P&C will win. For three reasons. 1. Because the judges are scoring them as if they were from another planet. 2. Because so many of the other top teams are skating P&C's style instead of maximizing their own unique strengths in the FD. It would have been so much more interesting if all the top teams were doing the latter, but we aren't getting that. 3. Because the pool for the Olympic judging panel includes a lot of countries with high-ranking teams that train in Montreal.
The current scoring system is not working in dance. I think that's apparent. The value for the GOE needs to go back down into balance with the levels or vice versa with the value of the levels going way up in order to balance out the GOE. I also would not be opposed to the return of anonymous judging panels. I think a lot of people who prefer having everything out in the open are underestimating the political threat some countries/federations hold over their own judges.
Well, that's your opinion. My opinion is that there are teams that should be able to challenge them if those teams were doing their own thing. But most of those teams aren't doing their own thing. If P/C had competition closer to what P/C provide in skill level (FD taste notwithstanding), then I’d change my stance. But nobody competing at the moment is close to them, that much is obvious.
And since they’re not, what’s the use in talking about fantasies? Might as well be saying, well if so and so has much better run of blade and cleanliness in movement and covered the ice with such speed and ease while doing complex choreo, then they’d be competing on their level too!Well, that's your opinion. My opinion is that there are teams that should be able to challenge them if those teams were doing their own thing. But most of those teams aren't doing their own thing.
Nonsense. Just total nonsense. All the judges of ice dance said no Russian team was worthy of any major titles for 10 years! There is no fix. The world title for s/k is not because of corruption? I mean why did the corruption not exist for 10 years? Why didn’t b/s ever win world title or anything? Why didn’t I/k win in Sochi? You just can’t handle in any way a Russian team being successful. You hate it. It must be because of awful corruption. It’s really horrible. How did Russian corruption become so dominant again as to make a/k with them having no talent or ability or programs successful? Why s/k and not b/s? You just post hate filled xenophobiaOh please spare me the anti Russia hatered b.s, it’s the laziest most juvenile reply ever. There was one tiny little stumble. You act like they fell all over the iceWe were so close this past weekend and yet the element where they nearly fell because of the shirt still received positive GOE. Hard to call it a sport when the judges aren't judging what's happening right before their eyes.
some Russian MPs and Tarasova just recently said so.I just read a ton of quotes saying they weren't interested in doing that?
