I wonder who is coaching Courtney Hicks since I think she didn't move with Kori to Tennessee. Hope Paige has a good skate. Chan/Howe had a good SP ;)

Courtney has been training with Christy Krall, a pairing that could have benefitted her quite some time ago. Krall's focus on jump technique has the potential to harness Courtney's power into consistency, and Krall's preference for clean lines and good posture in programs would also serve Courtney well. I don't know if Krall is Courtney's head coach. Maybe she works with many others there, too, but they do work together regularly.

Also, I am thrilled for Paige R - 65.xx is a SOLID score for Mids. With a similar FS, she will be well on her way to Greensboro. Good on her!

I’m excited for Paige because that is a great score regardless of where it occurred, but this is regionals. Mids is in a month.

Right, right. Definitely SW Regionals, but I was planning ahead for Paige's success ;-), while cueing off an earlier post that had hoped for Paige's success at Mids. Regardless, 65 at SWR, or at the future Mids, is fantastic. It's been quite a while since her talent has shown through to this extent.

I need footage of Paniot's SP immediately 🆘
15TES
What happens when he finishes last (3rd) here?
Will he move forward or is he out?

Wow, I thought the idea of Paniot skating for USA was just a joke. How wrong I was!

The results and starting orders should show up here in the next day or so...

New England

North Atlantics

Upper Great Lakes

Central Pacific

Pacific Coast Dance

New England’s are about 2 miles from my brother’s house. I had planned on going for senior ladies, but the schedule doesn’t work for me. Good luck, everyone.

Have the standings been posted for the National Qualifying Series? It's hard so far to tell who exactly will be at the pairs & dance finals next month.

I will post the top NQS finishers when I have time. Many senior pairs/dance teams did not sign up for NQS so they are not listed in the standings. Also, if there are 12 or fewer teams registered for the Finals they may elect not to compete there before Nationals.

Thanks Sylvia! As it turns out, it just allowed me to register...anyway (updated 10/14)

Sorry for any typos, I did this quick....heading to work in a few mins...can do junior pairs and dance and novices later if there's interest...

I think Sylvia posted that Julia Biechler was given an NQS bye as well....presumably replacing Emmy Ma, who is now competing for Taiwan (I think?). And Gabriella Izzo now has a bye to Nats (as do Alysa, Karen and Hanna) due to 3 int'l assignments this fall.

I've compiled a list of NQS Seniors here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...ying-pipeline-info.105692/page-3#post-5666618

ETA:

Polina Edmunds AFAIK does not have a NQS bye (#7 in Pacific section?) and is not listed in the CP Regional Senior Ladies SP starting order of the CP results index page: https://www.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2020/27736/index.asp
2 CP Senior ladies elected to compete at CP and so the top 6 should advance to Pacifics:
Emilia Murdock (both international & NQS bye)
Lily Sun (NQS bye)

I assume Akari Nakahara got the NQS #6 bye in the Pacific section which is why she didn't compete at SWP last week.

Senior Ladies that had NQS byes but elected to compete at their Regional:
Alex Evans SWP1/Pacific (3)
Jill Heiner SA2/Eastern (6)
Paige Rydberg SW1/Midwestern (4)
Heidi Munger NE/Eastern (7)
Emilia Murdock CP/Pacific (4)
Julia Biechler SA5/Eastern (8)
Maxine Marie Bautista UGL/Midwestern (6)
Cailtlin Ha SWP2/Pacific (5)
Sierra Venetta CP/Pacific (6)
Lily Sun CP/Pacific (7)
Violeta Ushakova NA/Eastern (10) #5 if skaters with int'l byes above her are removed

Also, Isabeau Levito registered for both Junior and Novice in NQS and has elected to compete Novice at North Atlantics (currently leading after the SP, having landed 3Lz, 3Lo+3T< & 2A with 3 jump bonus points) - link to the NA results index page: https://www.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2020/27723/index.asp

So Violeta has a bye?

Next 5 per section after the ones listed above...bolded are the ones who I think got bumped up due to some of the ones above already having a bye to Nationals...

Violeta Ushakova 141

South Atlantics might actually have the deepest field of Senior ladies of the 9 Regionals this year. I heard that Julia Biechler was given a NQS bye but competed in Aston anyway, which means the sixth place finisher, Joanna Hubbart, has qualified for Easterns.
So Violeta has a bye?
Violeta Ushakova finished 2nd in Senior Ladies at North Atlantics behind Haley Beavers (CC: @Jozet). As of now I am guessing she has a NQS bye because she is the #5 in the Eastern section after Ma and the 4 skaters with international byes are removed:
Audrey Shin NA JGP bye
Gabriella Izzo NE JGP bye (now has bye through Easterns to Nationals due to having 3 internationals)
Rena Ikenishi NA NQS bye
[Emmy Ma NE now TPE]
Sarah Jung SA JGP bye
Jill Heiner SA2 NQS bye
Heidi Munger NE NQS bye (1st after SP)
Julia Biechler SA5 NQS bye
Megan Wessenberg NE CS bye (now has bye through Easterns to Nationals due to having 3 internationals)
Violeta Ushakova NA NQS bye?
Kristine Levitina WD from SA because she had a NQS bye?

If Ushakova in fact has a NQS bye, then the top 5 Senior ladies at NA will advance to Easterns.

I've compiled a list of NQS Juniors here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...ying-pipeline-info.105692/page-3#post-5667160

SENIOR LADIES
INTERNATIONAL/BYES TO NATS
Bradie Tennell- 216
Alysa Liu- 208
Mariah Bell- 205
Amber Glenn- 186 (may have to do Mids, not sure)
Starr Andrews - 181
Ting Cui- 177
Karen Chen- 173
Gabriella Izzo- 160
Hanna Harrell- 160
Megan Wessenberg - 148
--------------
NQS+Regionals (over 150, all have reached min TES for Nationals)
(listed event is where they got their high score, although some of the "regionals" skaters already had qualified through NQS)
Audrey Shin 180 E NQS
Emily Zhang 178 E Regionals
Paige Rydberg 172 M Regionals
Maxine Bautista 165 M Regionals
Rena Ikenishi 164 E NQS
Pooja Kalyan 164 M NQS
Sarah Jung 162 E NQS
Jill Heiner 158 E NQS
Alex Evans 156 P NQS
Sierra Venetta 153 P Regionals
Caitlin Ha 152 P Regionals

*above listed 5 ladies from East, so one will miss out on Nationals unless USFS does a smart thing and assigns Emily Zhang and/or Audrey Shin to an international...Mids and Pacs are less packed fields.
---------------
Next highest scores per section...
PAC- Emilia Murdock 146, Lily Sun 144, Akari Nakahara 140
MIDS- Stephanie Ciarochi 146, Alyssa Rich 145, Courtney Hicks 144
EAST- Heidi Munger 147, Julia Biechler 146, Beavers/Ushakova/Gold -135

As of now Amber Glenn is scheduled to compete at Mids, AFAIK, unless she receives a 3rd international assignment (Golden Spin of Zagreb is after Sectionals... would that count?).

Copying over from the U.S. Men's thread in GSD:
Update from regionals- qualifying total min score for Nationals is 92...

Sebastien Payannet (67.90 in FS+ 36.52 in SP, total 104.42) made it from SWPac.

Emmanuel Savary (49.40 in FS+ 43.30 in SP, total 92.70) just makes it from Southwestern Regionals.

So far no other men from the senior regionals comps have attained the 92 total.
Jordan Moeller (60.14 TES in FS + 40.36 in SP, total 100.5) won the Upper Great Lakes Senior Men's event this past weekend (198.18) and got the minimum: https://www.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2020/27732/CAT026SEG033.html

Nathan Chen 299
Jason Brown 255

Tomoki Hiwatashi 214
Jimmy Ma 213 (may have to do Eastern sectionals if he doesn't get another intl)
Andrew Torgashev 212
Ryan Dunk 205
--------------
NQS+Regionals (over 180, all have reached min TES for Nationals)
Yaroslav Paniot P 213 NQS

Jordan Moeller M 198 Regionals
Dinh Tran P 197 NQS

There may not be 3 more East or 2 more Mids men that can reach the mins...but we shall see...
