HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ALEX!

VIETgrlTerifa, speaking of COMMENTS sections, the almost 600 comments under Alex's post introducing the twitterverse to his girlfriend reads like the screenplay from the Crazy Rich Asians movie
Serious crisis moments for some fans who seem to bond in empathy as their fantasies burst at the same time, world wide.

Alex Shibutani and Sabrina Imamura make the cutest couple while stepping out at Figure Skating in Harlem’s 2019 Champions in Life Benefit Gala in New York City on Monday night (April 29).
The adorable duo were joined by his sister and skating partner, Maia Shibutani, plus Meryl Davis, Sasha Cohen, Charlie White and his wife Tanith White.
I couldn't help but stalk Alex's new girlfriend and came across this improv piece she did coincidentally set the The Leftovers soundtrack that Alex mixed in the second half with Truman Sleeps from their 2016-2017 FD:

I love seeing some Broadway people I follow commenting on her post about the relationship. I feel like my worlds are colliding. One guy said he Googled Alex and concluded that he was "worthy". I thought it was sweet but the Asian auntie part of me who has been protective over the Shibs since 2009 Junior Worlds was like "Of course Alex is worthy!"
Now that some clips of their new Coldplay exhibition has been posted on YouTube, I couldn't help but wonder if those two music choices would have been better than "Paradise" for their Olympic programs. Obviously "Paradise" worked out just fine given how successful they were with it, but I couldn't help but wonder.
Something to think about, but then again maybe they are saving this new Coldplay program for their FS for their comeback.
They look fabulous!
Looks like he is moving on to "better things" than skating competitively! I'm happy for him. Next, we'll all want to go to the wedding!
? Pretty sure he could compete while having a girlfriend.Looks like he is moving on to "better things" than skating competitively! I'm happy for him. Next, we'll all want to go to the wedding!
Stop being a tease, @Sylvia! They were completely noncommittal except to say they have no plans for the summer because that's usually their training time. BUT they talked about spending more time in Japan and didn't mention Marina or FL so....Here's @clairecloutier's interview with Maia & Alex before the 4/28/19 Worcester Stars on Ice show (yes, she asked THE question): http://figureskatersonline.com/news...o-appreciate-every-moment-and-take-it-all-in/

It was worth a try!Yes, as I expected, the Shibs were noncommittal on the "coming back" question. I still wanted to ask anyway, just in case.I thought their shout-out to their fan community was nice.

It seems they won’t be coming back this season. I think if they were they’d be in total training mode by now. It seems the best we can hope for is a Tessa/Scott where they come back the season prior to the Olympic one.
Thank you for the interview @clairecloutier! It was an amazing read and you asked some great questions.
