anyone else notice a similarity with their post Olympics career ?

both struggle with relearning/rebuilding jumps issues, lutz
Asada had a reliable Flip and Salchow, while Medevedva has Salchow and used to be her loop was very good.

both being left out by upcoming juniors.

Mao went back to her roots! Medvedeva went to a foreign country with extreme hatred of her country! It’s a bad mix

or Maybe the orser team isn't really fit for used training regimen ?

sad next season she might be left out with juniors Trusova, Kostornia, Scherbakova and Trakanova going seniors.

I'm scared for her at Nationals

Me too. Worlds eligible alone Zagitova, Tuktamysheva, Samodurova, and even Konstantinova could be ahead of her. Add scherbakova, kostornaia, trusova, tarakanova, and so many other very talented women and my gosh she might not be top ten.

did Kwan ever had such a dip post Olympics in her career as Asada or Medvevas ?

Kwan's post-SLC results at Worlds: silver (2002); gold (2003); bronze (2004); fourth (2005) Not sure how this compares, but in Kwan's case, I also think the years of wear and tear on her body explains the dip; I'm not sure how it would compare to the wear and tear that Mao and Janny have dealt with.

It’s so unfortunate how short sighted and irrational people are. While i understand the parallels between she and Mao, i don’t believe that it’s necessary to compare them. I also don’t think people understand that Evgenia is also learning herself! She’s not the teenage jumping bean she once was. Not only are there physical dinnerences , mentally she’s lived more and the point of view of a 19 year old is different than 15 or 16.

She needs to remind herself its a 4 year plan. She needs to worry about herself, not Alina, not the Quad Lutz queens. Just herself. Brian telling her to trust them was the best advice. I love how empathetic Tracy was in the kiss and cry. I also love that Brian is so firm! New Lutz, different Flip pattern, NEW AXEL ( talk about a hard jump
To retool) new combination she unveiled. I’m still Impressed given she’s in a new country, new coach and the other 968 things that are new.

I think her biggest mistake at this even was altering the mood she’s trained. I have to believe that for the short they’ve asked her to adopt a lighter flirtatious aura and she went out there in warrior mode. Wrong mood. Then In the free, a program that i don’t think she meshes with, she skated without confidence. It’s so hard to watch but she’s still the girl That came back from
Injury to win an Olympic silver medal. If she learns to trust her team, she will be the greatest champion.

Holy f, thank you. Sometimes it feels like I could count on one hand the number of rational comments I've seen on Evgenia since the season started.

Are you forgetting that Mao came back after her post-Olympic dip to win Worlds, 4CCs and the GPF again (twice) as well as multiple GPs? Not to mention one of the most memorable Olympic free skates ever in 2014 after a freakishly awful SP. Let's hope Med IS on a Mao Asada trajectory. I thought that was the goal!

Tough to find a comparable example from the women's side, but Victor Petrenko's 1988-89 was quite poor for a reigning Olympic medalist. Irina Slutskaya isn't a fair example as she had health issues in 2002-03.

Brian is pretty clear with his new skaters that he needs 18 months for results and that they may have to sacrifice some podiums along the way. She’s only been here 6 months. She’s frustrated, yes. But I could hear Tracy talking to her after the marks and she was already talking about what they have to do. So, they are keeping her moving forward. She’ll settle in, I’m sure.

Raf A. says he needs 2 years. So I hope she will stay where she is and benefit from her new team.

Medvedeva, needs to get out of her own head and just trust the process. How can you wear a costume as awful as that SP spectacle and hope to be happy? She had also best not be reading any of those Russian forums and some good old-fashioned therapy wouldn't hurt, would it? What's next Morozov?

Girl, girl, you better stay put it will all come together later, not sooner but later. Also enjoy the fresh maple syrup, beavertails and hot cocoa, yolo.
