No Evgeny, you can not substitute after the TE with Kovtun. If you are injured after or during the TE, there will not be an entry for the individual event.

Yes they could. Tarah and Danny were required to stay up until the SP draw if they were needed due to injury or illness. That's why they name alternates for the individual events. Please show me the rules where this is stated regarding the TE and IE events. It would be completely biased and unfair, if say, Chris broke his leg the day before the IE event and the alternate was not allowed to skate. It makes no sense. And I doubt the USFS would just pay for Tarah and Danny to be there past the draw of the pair SP in the TE if it wasn't possible for them to skate in the IE if necessary. The Kovtun/Plushy example is not factual. Kovtun could have skated in the IE if Plush wd before the short draw.

Jim Peterson posted on Instagram that he has 3 guys seeking partners: Meyh, Barrett, and Sandusky. If anyone knows any compatible pairs girls who are looking .... :D

And I love how he called it the lonely hearts club:lol: Can’t imagine they’ll be lonely for long, even if the young ladies need to move to Florida....

What happened to the days when Yankowskas couldnt find one???

Is she still wanting to skate????

Oh, ANL, you took the words right out of my mouth. A part of me is thinking, if the great Deanna S. can come back at age 32 and skate great, why can't Caitlin Yankowskas come back too?
But she may have moved on in her life now, or there may be financial issues that at are keeping her from returning. :(

I keep thinking what if...

^^^ Yes, I posted earlier in this thread about Brynn back on Feb. 10th:
Chris won the Novice Pairs title with Brynn Carman at that same Nationals [2008] -- Carman has been very supportive of her former partner on Twitter (good to see she's currently building a career in local news in Iowa): https://twitter.com/BrynnCarmanTV/status/961767302969602049
GOOD JOB by Audrey Lu/Misha Mitrofanov (54.38) and Sarah Feng/TJ Nyman (54.09), placing 6th & 7th, respectively, at Junior Worlds earlier today - new ISU personal bests in SP for both! I was hoping that both teams would make the 2nd to last group for the FS and they did. :)

Jimmy Morgan is on icepartnersearch. So glad to see he wants to come back to competition. I loved his personality on ice.
Wishing him luck!

His personality on twitter is very likeable too, so lemme use this news as an excuse to post his recent thoughts about the whole "connection between partners" thing (that I totally agree with; I get annoyed whenever someone demands that the connection between pairs/dance partners must appear to be "romantic" or else there's "no chemistry")
Had a conversation with a student who was uncomfortable portraying a romantic connection while training for pairs skating and was concerned it would affect her future success so I figured I’d share my answer here in case others felt the same way.

I encourage you to think about all the relationships you have in your life. Parents. Distant cousins. Good friends. Enemies. Heroes. Strangers. There are so many possible ways to portray a relationship that isn’t romantic. Find out what the two of you share and portray that.

Junior Worlds final standings (ISU personal best scores in all segments for both teams):
5 Audrey LU / Misha MITROFANOV USA 160.09 6 4
8 Sarah FENG / Tommy-Jo NYMAN USA 143.10 7 9
Yes, and I was just watching Lu/Mit's FS and when they did the 3S+Lo+3S (here) I was like  and had to stop and come here and say WOOOHOOOOOO!!! WAY TO GO!!!! :cheer2:
Thanks for linking to Lu/Mitrofanov's first attempt in competition of their 3S-half loop-3S combo (-0.7 GOE = 8.6 points), followed by good sbs 3Ts. 4th in the FS (105.71, less than a point from 3rd) was a really excellent performance by them! I wish they had one more season of ISU Junior age eligibility together but hopefully their technical scores/ability will ease the transition to senior next season.

Here's Feng/Nyman's SP (54.09): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS1OymrBCLo
They improved their JGP score from ~5 months ago by almost 12 points and have made steady progress in their pairs skills this season (level 3 triple twist in both programs in both San Jose & Sofia). It's fortunate Sarah turned 18 last September (he turns 18 next month) so they can continue to develop during another junior international season in 2018-19.

why have tarah and danny withdrawn? im really excited for Denate but sorry to miss K/O at the same time

SO SAD that Tarah & Danny had to withdraw from Worlds :(: http://www.usfigureskating.org/story?id=91392&type=media
WOW that Deanna Stellato will get her chance to compete at her first Worlds (with Nathan Bartholomay) at the age of 34 (will be 35 in June).

Oh geez. :( Very unfortunate news for Kayne/O'Shea. And, sad to say, this will NOT help in trying to qualify 2 Worlds spots for next year .... :(

ETA: By my count, of pairs expected to compete at Worlds, this is where the Knierims and Stellato/Bartholomay currently stand on the season's-best lists for total score and short program (again, this is just among the pairs at Worlds):

Knierims-- #13 total score, #10 short program
Stellato/Bartholomay-- #18 total score, #18 short program

Why have Tarah and Danny withdrawn? Injury? I'm going to hope like mad that Deanna and Nate skate as well as they possibly can. And the Knierims too of course.

Sorry to hear about Kayne & O'Shea. They certainly earned their place.

But yay for Deanna!

Happy for Deanna & Nate (I admire her so much!) for their Worlds debut but at the same time feeling uneasy about Tarah & Danny withdrawing... :(

I sure hope it's NOT another major injury, but this recent retweet by Tarah ("Just because the bridge is hard to see in this pic doesn’t mean it’s not there. What you want is still there, waiting for you. It’s just shitty outside, friend. But nothing’s gone") doesn't make me feel too optimistic about that. But I might be reading too much into it, so.

Gosh so surprised about the Tarah Danny news after they did so well at 4Ccs. Thrilled for Stell/Barth - hope theyve been given some notice.
