Ross Miner represents many good things in US skating. He skates to wonderful music by Billy Joel and Queen. He is in a loving and monogamous relationships with Heidi Mungar. My wife and I admire all true couples in the sport like Grant H. and Caroline Z. and of course the Skimeca's.

I believe that Ross would of scored between 261 and 262 point in Korea, therefore a higher score than what Adam Rippon produced. What do other people think about this.

At the time I felt bad for Ross, and still feel he was screwed to not be named atleast 1st alternate. However in hindsight they named the right team. All 3 U.S men did and skated very well, and finished far better than Miner at his best probably even would have. Miner doesnt get high PCS internationally at all, and he doesnt have much of a quad arsenal by todays standards either. Not to mention his history of international inconsistency and underperformance, performing well in the U.S is nothing new for him as his 2011 and 2013 World team qualifications show, but bringing that to the big international stage is something he had yet to do.

Plus Rippon ended up a huge publicity star of the Games and a bigtime popular figure who might have launched a new career for himself. Zhou showed his huge potential and Chen created a huge highlight by winning the LP. Miner would have done none of those things, it would have been a Vaughn Chipeur "nice retirement present" type moment for him.

Ross Minor was robbed of his chance to show what it looks like to put quality, passion, traditional family values and skill into the Olympics games. I've been a Minor fan for years now and believe what you say only I think 270 would have been his score. HE does not cave under pressure. He is strong, His quad is top-notch. US Figure skating will look back on this decision and regret it. We can only hope that we will grow and learn from this as a country. Thank you, Ross Minnor for your dedications and grace!

Amen! Hallelujah! The US Skating Organization should officially apologize to Ross and his girlfriend and they have not all ready!

Ross would have done about the same at the Olympics as Adam. So, if they are interchangeable widgets, then it didn't matter.

I am annoyed US Nationals was rendered pointless for world class skaters and less prestigious than SA in an effort to justify Adam being on the team. I am annoyed Adam did not go for the 4Lz at the Olympics because it was like watching the male version of Amber Corwin at the Olympics.

I think Ross would have made the free skate but he would have finished somewhere in the teens, having skated slightly worse than Adam did (not that Adam was bad at all... perhaps a bad choice of wording on my part. :P). I'd guess Samohin would've beaten him, leaving him in about 14th place.

:drama::rofl::rofl: If you’re bringing party favors, it’s only polite to share!

I don’t think he would have done as well as Vincent, but he maybe could have done as well as Adam. Or could have done much worse than both. Hard to say. I think Vincent backed up his selection, with Adam it’s less clear

I thought the final spot on the men's team was between Vincent and Ross, so it would be Vincent who would have stayed home had the USFSA went with Ross.

If I thought it would make a difference, I would ask why Miner and his girlfriend represent family values any more or less that Rippon and his family, including loving and supportive parents and siblings.

NB I really wanted to see Ross at the Olympics.

O-M-G...

That Mom.. what a woman.. what a soul.

Talk about someone who GETS it!

The stuff she says.. "As his mother, his sexual orientation is none of my business", "Do straight married couples throw their sexuality in our faces too?" "Dont say girl toy or boy toy."

I love her.

Also, refresh my drink... why are we talking about Ross and a girlfriend?

^^^ huh what r u talking about?? Really?

Ross isn't gay?
Ross Miner is in a loving and dedicated monogamous relationship with Heidi, they have been together for many years. Not as long as I have been with my wife, Bonnie, but that may change some day.

Here is an article about Heidi: http://www.telegram.com/article/20160117/sports/160119264

They are a good example of the virtuous side of figure skating. Yet the US Skating Organization does not care about prioritizing dedicated loving skaters with quadruple jumps and that decision was outrageous! I have not been so angry since I found a metal bolt in my chicken noodle soup from Boston Market.

As for myself, I think the morality and the techniques of skating are hard to seprate. Ross has both and should have been in Korea and should have be apologized to.

Did they apologize to Mirai Nagasu in 2014 for leaving her off the Sochi team? If not, there is no need to apologize to Ross.

I do feel bad for him, just like I did for Mirai in 2014. Still, it is life. We know what Mirai did with hers. I am sure Ross will find a positive way to deal with his.
