I feel really bad for them, but at the same time I'm really proud for how they handled it. Nothing is lost, they always had at least 1.5 point in advance in the FD ! Gabi once said that the angrier they are, the best the skate. Let's get mad guys !

They handled the problem relatively well. And I like that short dance. It captured both their youthful energy and their smooth and refined skating skills really well.

On NBC's post show they said Gabi was fighting back tears during the interviews. Lord help me.

They beat V/M in the FD at the GPF by 1.76. They can still do this.

They've grown so much in the last year. Compare how they held on to their composure to last year when Guillaume cut his hand. They kept it together.

And they absolutely killed it in the FD after a disastrous SD last year.

I still believe they have a good chance tomorrow. All they need to do is to forget the short dance and just skate their hearts out and we all know they're fully capable of that. And stay out from the social media! When I see some of the posts on twitter... :angryfire It's funny, apparently, the world hasn't seen a nipple before.

Ben Agosto agrees with me. He just predicted that P/C will win gold tomorrow.

BTW, watching the SD with a bottle of wine turned out to be a great decision. I highly recommend it.
Well I wish but so early in the morning already experiencing an insurmountable bout of nausea I guess not so wise. I opted for coffee but I might have drank a bit too much coupled with anger, not a good combo either :angryfire

Luckily Gabriella's costume was constructed in a way (with those two thin straps in the back) that enabled her to use her upper body pretty much as planned, even though she must've been feeling oh no no no please noooooo  the whole time and had to hold back a bit.

If you saw Yura Min's similar wardrobe malfunction that happened in the team SD, she had to actually change her movements. She was trying to keep her arms and shoulders back the whole time to prevent the top part of her costume from completely falling off. She even had to abandon her third set of twizzles to stop and pull the top back up, so that was a far costlier wardrobe malfunction in terms of points and performance quality, even though Yura also held it together admirably well.

So. We (and they) can take solace in the fact that it could've been worse.

She said she felt it right away and all she could do was pray. Not surprisingly, she was distracted by it. I'm not sure everyone could handle it as well as she did -- both on the ice and in the press conference.

What do they say ? What doesn't kill makes you stronger. I'm putting all my hopes and money on this now. No need to beat themselves up now, good humor is the way to go and just come out kicking ass tomorrow.

Do you have a link for the conference?

From the bright side, there's another bonus for the free dance - there's no way that dress will cause troubles!

Guillaume & Gabi holding hands for dear life in the press conference. Asked if she felt the costume come undone right away, she said "I felt it right away and I prayed, and that's all that I could do" and then she laughs, and the room applauds.

The way she's handling herself is making me even a bigger fan.

I feel horrible for them :/ They started SO good, the pattern was insane, sharp - and there was already the costume issue !
Right now ? I don't care for the color of the medal AT ALL. I want a Worlds 2017 repeat. Just skate your hearts out after that disappointement, they have NOTHING to lose, they are the best when they just let it go. :cheer2:

I'm watching it again now and I can't believe I didn't notice the issue, but after I misheard Tanith, I think I was watching him more than her (thinking he was the one with a costume issue). And realizing now what was going on, I'm even more in awe of her strength and total commitment to the program.

Props to Tanith and Terry, too; Tanith pointed out the problem but neither of them dwelled on it, and they just went on to call the program as they saw it. THAT'S how a professional behaves.

Assholes on twitter managed to find a shot of her nipple. I hope gabby thinks it’s humorous... otherwise she’d be mortified

I noticed the problem just before the lift, after that I was just mortified that the exposure will be even bigger. Thank God it wasn't. Neither of the commentators of the channel I watched commented on that, which was great. They even said that nothing's decided as their Moonlight Sonata's been the clear favourite for the whole season...

Anyway, their debut at the Olympics is over. They can breathe now. It wasn't ideal, but they should get a confidence boost from the fact that they got this huge score even though they couldn't focus on the dance as much as they wanted to. They've got nothing to lose and with this attitude, they'll able to surprise us all! If Aljona and Bruno did it, I still don't see a reason why these two couldn't. ;)

What was Ben's argument to justify P/C's victory? (I mean why does he seem so sure?)

Okay, first I was mortified by the nipplegate (and realized that I lied, I want them to win - that SD placement upset me more than it should).

But, now I find it too funny. How we've worried the whole season about Guillaume's nipples, while Gabby's were slowly planning devilish things. And the falling top definitively add some sultriness to the dance, considering she really did not let that stop her from giving it all to the dance. Plus, this is cliché-french :D

Gabriella is GLORIOUS throughout.

So... I did rewatch it, thinking, "focus on the program not on the costume malfunction".

Well, aside from the twizzles which got downgraded in GOE, it was far from a disaster... I mean truly really far from what I saw that was written. Their skating skills are off the charts though. They did rightfully get a Pst level3 when Gaby was doing her twizzle she was not stable (well, I don't want her top to get off so...) but the rest was actually... good. Despite critics, I mean try to even fight me on this one.
PCS wise, they got the highest on Skating Skills, Transitions and Compositions. Obviously certainly not on Performance and Interpretation.

Interview on the mixed zone with French TV they were pissed and not hiding it : "What happenned ?" Gaby said : "My costume oppened" and nothing else because they was nothing else to say. "Did you hear the Canadian scores ?" and they made such a face like Why the f*** would we even care ? Guillaume : "Yes, but it doesn't matter, it's not a parameter". They were extremely calm, visibly pissed and did not want to speak for nothing so they stopped talking.

Yes I think for the ones who noticed the malfunction, it was hard to concentrate on anything else, but for those who didn't see it until the end (like me) it was a great performance!

I thought they looked 'careful' and not skating lights out, especially after Scott and Tessa (but for they those too are almost over the top ), and THEN i realised something was wrong with the costume. So for me it defiitely had an impact on how much they sold the programme. Surely not what they would have hoped for, but I'm sure this will make them give us an even more magical moment tomorrow!
