The Shibutanis Thread Cinco...Mambo!

I loved it tonight! I don't care if if it was only "112." That dance was the BEST we've seen it all season. :) It's going to SLLLAAAAAYYY next week!

Sorry I had like 3 IPAs and probably hyped up. That's probably Mrs. P's version of VGT's martinis.

Agreed. I think they'll hit their elements way better in the individual as well because they have the luxury of getting direct feedback from the panel and judges and will work on it and score even better. How nice that others think the Shibs don't have a chance at the bronze medal just because they're imagining the teams who didn't have to face this panel and actually skate would score better. All the experts on FSU think they know so much but they have been wrong this entire TE outside no-brainers like Zagitova/Medvedeva.

This panel is killing everyone pretty much. No one is going to escape it. Oh well, let them think that. I think the Shibs have a huge advantage now having faced the panel once. I just hope they get this feeling again. It was so emotional and free. I'm so happy for them!

Just think of FSU's certainty that Mirai would place last and screw up the 3A, and relax. The Shibs are definitely in the right place. That was an Olympian performance.

The PBP are just full of bitter bettys who want what they wish to happen to be true. I appreciate the TE because it taught me to ignore the PBP and don't participate for the individual ice dance event. It's just full of negative toxicity and personal opinions trying to be passed as expert opinion.

The Shibs just scored in the H/D range with lots of reviews and an ungenerous PCS that they received compared to what they received earlier this season. They unlike other teams never get the benefit of the doubt but the Shibs make sure they can't be denied. This will make them want to fight.

Let's ignore that negativity out there and talk about how much better this FD is now.

I thought Mirai would screw up but I was enchanted by her performance. It was lovely, and the nailed triple axel was incredible. I hope they both slay in the individual events. :)

Going back to the original Paradise track was genius. It put all the attention on their skating, and they put everything into that. They didn't let the music carry them. Instead they took the lead. The audience sounded like they were super into it too. Fantastic.

Yes, it removed distraction and allowed the arc of the program to be clear and strong.

I relaxed a little after to know that the bronze medal was sure and I watched their FD, but the stream was blurry and I had to cover the TES box on the screen, but wow, they were amazing, really, I loved the changes, after the score in the SD I thought they would be cautious but they went all for it. They are Olympic medalist!!!!!!!!!! :biggrinbo:biggrinbo:biggrinbo:respec::40beers:

It's also so nice that their performances (despite the weird judging) have lived up to all the media attention they've been getting. I feel as if they're famous now. "The Shib Sibs" thing has really caught on. It seems actually that even if FSU isn't, the rest of the world is ready for a sibling team with a different approach to ice dance. I guess the media's harping on the sibling thing wasn't so dumb.

Can't wait to see this performance! So many great takeaways. Highest scoring elements on the ROLift, Twizzles, and spin of the night!!! Finally some real GOE love on the Twizzles.

They did what they needed to do. Skate clean and confident. Close on PCS with B/S, but whatever. Their SD will set them up nicely for the FD. Agreed 112 is low, but the tech panel is tough. No L4 Steps for anyone.

They've got a week before the SD to rest, practice, and perfect. Looking forward to seeing the FD live. On our way to Seoul overnight. We see Pairs FS, both men's events, and the FD.

Shibs for the podium!!!

!

Really?!!! Finally Justice has been done!!!. I always appreciate their rotational lift and twizzles but precisely today when I was watching their performance I was thinking how good their spin is compared with the other teams.
