Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir # 47: Come What May...

From what I can make out, I preferred the sleek, sans-sequins sexiness of their Nationals costumes. But this is Moulin Rouge at the Olympics, and the time for subtlety is long gone :p

I approve of Scott's costume upgrade though, soooo much better than that drab grey turtleneck he was sporting for most of the season.

I love bling :D She’s playing Satine. She’s bejewelled in the movie when they sing Come What May. I think this is a nice compromise. And it’s the Olympics.

That’s cool about Patti aka Keith Richards’s wife posting their SD.

If Nicole Kidman posts, life will be complete.

She posted about Alexa and Chris on Facebook, so I don't think it's out of the realms of possibility that she will if it's a moment tonight. Baz Luhrmann's post gets more views by the minute, and the YouTube video is going up 100k a day. People love that music, even if figure skating fans would rather never hear it again :D

Didn't she see them win in person in Vancouver?

Maybe they just need to analyse and copy P/C's Rhumba :p Don't think Gabi's Choctaw is as wide as Tessa's and they're not always totally in sync, but I also don't recall them missing a key point all season.
I found that Gabby and Scott have the best chochtaw actually... more than just wide and everything, the way they do the change of edge is something it's "direct", there is no room for questionning if it can be flat from the exit (so no loss of KP). Look at their feet. I get that Tessa and Guillaume are getting all the love (or more like their partners can get some **** because online rivalry and you can have someone to go after - too easy) but that is fact checking, their technique is spot on.
(But let's not talk about P/C here...)

I've analysed the edges- I'm a skater. Hence why I said they hit their points, deserve their level, and there isn't a doubt about it. But in ice dance, I personally look for depth of edge and synchronicity over everything, and too often if you pause the video P/C's lines in that pattern don't match up (though that's a GOE issue). And I'm not going after Gabi, I promise, she's great- to be honest I sometimes have issues with Guillaume for not fully adjusting to his partner, but like you said, not the thread! I'm not really a fan of the key point system at all tbh, but that's a post for another day. I know the choctaws are analysed for levels separately but I still look for them as a pair. A personal thing!

I'm a skater too and the way both do their chochtaw, I would have dreamed of doing that.
(I found them to have their lines very matching during the pattern, but we can have this conversation elsewhere because I don't want to bother people who don't want to talk about them here, and complain after :))

I HATED the Choctaw. I was jealous of anyone who could do it without falling over.

Depends what competition- they were on at the GPF and way off earlier in the season. They've obviously worked hard at it :) Anyway I'll stop now!

I heard they were a little off at the GPF which may have been why P&C jumped in & stole the title..

I'm not sure there's much point relitigating the GPF. I didn't necessarily agree with the result, but it was close enough for me not to get completely up in arms about it. V/M made mistakes and P/C probably had the SD of their lives.

Anyone know how to embed videos from Twitter? There's a good one from someone in the arena of them sparkling through the opening of MR.

Love the new dress but you can put that girl in a burlap sack and she'd look fabulous.
Remember that beige thing she tried for Mahler at some GP before Vancouver? They tried with the sack (she still looked good. It's a gift)

Odd question but is Scott still dating Kaitlyn Lawes the curler? I just saw her on TV & remembered they were together..

Was just thinking about something..if they win this Gold tonight for team Canada I bet the judges will be like.. there you go that's your second OG..you ain't getting the IE Gold too..ugh I hope I am just overreacting lol

If they win gold tonight, I'll be thrilled.

Please jeebus don't let skate canaCa get stupid and sub W&P in...

Any chance to gain some momentum for the individual and put those FD changes in front of an international panel will be way more important to SC than getting W/P a medal I think. You'd think. And I know they're all friends, but I very much doubt the competitors I love would happily give that chance up either.

*are they even allowed to sub at this point? I doubt it.

Can they even do a last minute substitution? I thought the sub would have to have been made yesterday.
