German vice champion 2018
Although this season has not gone as well as I have planned, I am satisfied with the second place and will keep my fingers crossed @lea_dastich and @nicole_schott at the European Championships in Moscow and wish @nicole_schott good luck in Pyeongchang
Unfortunately, I have not been able to run enough competitions to qualify for the Olympics and the European Championships, but there are injuries to every athlete and I will definitely continue to do my best

Looks like Bavaria has more Novice spots that they have suitable Novice skaters for so they are sending Calderari & Klaunig back into Novice?
Are you kidding me? That should not be allowed.
They really need to bring back the rules that "force" skaters to move up. At least that once you competed Junior Internationally you should not be allowed to go back to Novice just for Nationals!

One the up side .... 4 Novice pairs are on the list again .... lets see how they do!

Tonight on ITV starts a new series of Dancing on Ice with German skater Vanessa Bauer. She has been a pair skater for Germany at the JGP with Nolan Seegert. When Seegert has dumped her and got a new partner Vanessa Bauer moved on skating on the biggest cruise ship in the world, the Harmony of the Seas. She is a real show girl!!! For Dancing on Ice she has paired up with Jake Quickenden.

Ann-Christina Marold is in the lead after the short programm in Junior ladies, following by Franziska Kettl and Tina Helleken.

The Junior Ladies free skate is tonight.

The Junior Mens event starts tomorrow afternoon.

They want that gold! Of course, I understand the decision, though it would maybe do good to have one more competition between GPF and OG? At least for Bruno? Or maybe it's ok, they're still riding the wave from GPF.

No, Germany had two spots. Hase/Seegert made it to the free last year but they were maybe 14th or something.

What happens if H/S beat H/B at Euros? Is the decision to send H/B to Olys final or is there some small print about Euros placement/points?

The qualification system in Germany did not include Europeans (3 challenger and nationals), so the decision for the olympic qualification is final. There was no way to include Europeans, because Germany has only 2 spots.

I would have liked to see the Empress, but I am very happy to see H/S get an international championship this year. I hope they give H/B a hell of a fight for the worlds ticket!

It seems that H/S never have to fight for an international assignment. Last year they got the spot of V/B (Europeans and Worlds). This year they get the spot of S/M. Well, they are really lucky!

I fear more a new SP in the making as Aliona posted a pic where she received a new costume. Pic is not that great, so I can’t tell if it’s only a new one for SP or FS or one for a possible new program.

The attempted throw 4S was the very LAST element in their 1st GP FS last season. (She fell.) That kind of surprise ending to a program is hard to forget.

I think it is the new costume for the SP. She wants to changes Bruno´s dress as well. A tie bow with braces would be better than the single tie.

Skipping Euros makes me sad but I can understand them. It is just not only about the technical content. The big danger is to loose against T/M. At Europeans and especially in moscow Russian skater are usually pushed (compare T/M last year´s Euros with Worlds). A second place behind T/M would them let descend from their current position as the world´s number 1 pair.

I do believe that Aljona wants the 3ATh for the SP so badly. Many of us do not agree with her. Nevertheless their throws became way better in the last 6 weeks. Maybe they found a way to make it more save.

They did fight hard for their trip to WC last year. When they got the minimums at Euros they were SO happy! Great KnC!

Would be nice if Sui/Han skip the SP and skate in the FP in this case. Since Germany will probably not qualify for the FPs.

I am disappointed not to see them at Euros. But I think they made a big enough statement at GPF to still carry them into the Games with momentum. Although it’s a bit risky if T/M, S/K, or J/C have a big moment at Euros (or S/H at 4CCs). Still probably okay.

Looking back, Aliona/Robin had a disappointing event at the 2010 pre-Olympic Euros and withdrew from 2014 Euros.
