Unpopular Opinions

Everyone should give their lives to Christ. Christianity is the best religion on earth.

I don't like dogs and I don't even try to hide it.

I REALLY dislike small talk.

I don't mind talking politics in public. One of my favorite topics.:p

Oh, and while we're talking cities, I like Glasgow over Edinburgh. Edinburgh is nice to do once, for the top attractions, but Glasgow is a much better city to visit again and again.

Ditto for Toronto over Montreal.

Uh, that definitely reminds me - I'd take Chicago over New York City any day and really don't see what the fuss about NYC is all about. No offense to any New Yorkers but to me it's just another big city without any true "personality" if you will. (though there might be more fuss about NYC in Europe/Germany than the US but here, NYC is definitely the city, sometimes it seems the only one in the US people consider worth visiting/existing)

Hate that, do you?

YES!!! Why people watch a video on youtube that doesn't interest them...and then take time to express that to everyone. Just weird! :D And people who join facebook pages and then talk about how much they hate that subject...you joined that group yourself, buddy!

A thread like this is one of the rare times I talk about things I hate. Too many wondrous things out there to spend much time and things that don't captivate you. :)

I prefer spinach to kale.

The thought of eating tuna that's seared on the outside and uncooked on the inside makes me ill. I'd rather eat tuna that's all the way raw (sashimi or Hawaiian poke) or all the way cooked.

I don't understand the attractiveness of and devotion to books/movies/TV shows about vampires, werewolves, zombies.

I often wonder this, too, actually. It's one thing if a particular thing comes up in conversation and you say "Ewwww," quite another if you initiate the conversation by saying "I watched X and it was so annoying."

Well, then, why did you watch it?

I don't "feel" superior.

There have been some excellent books about vampires over the years, including the original by Bram Stoker and the 'Vampire Chronicles' trilogy by Annie Rice.

Also a lot of drek, especially the works of Laurel K. Hamilton, which are largely soft porn - and sans zombies, since zombies can't do the deed.

With respect to zombies, I was never interested in them and was surprising to find myself hooked on The Walking Dead. But in that case, the show is about people, and what people do when the world as we know it ends. It touches upon the very essence of who we are. It is a theme I find fascinating, and the general focus of post-apocalyptic books/films.

Seriously my sisters goes after all the hate groups. If you were to read her facebook page you would think she is an incredibly angry and unstable individual.

There is no point spending time being hateful. Life is too short to be so stressed and angry.

Although I acknowledge the brilliance of Shakespeare, I think more current and relevant works should be taught in high school literature classes.

As one who is sometimes cast in the role of English tutor, I think literary analysis is a complete waste of time. Margaret Atwood - herself a poet - said the same about poetry. I can understand asking students to write about a work that has some meaning and significance to them, but otherwise don't see any value in literary analysis. There are always supposed to be deep, hidden meanings, and I sometimes don't think they actually exist. So I end up hunting down analyses online and/or making stuff up a lot of the time, and surprisingly, it seems to work.

I don't like Beyonce. I'm not a huge Adele fan but give me Adele any day over Beyonce.
I don't like hearing people complain about the Kardashians. I don't like the Kardashians but I prefer to exercise my dislike by not hearing about them.
I don't like hockey, I especially dislike the Edmonton Oilers which is basically forbidden being from Northern Alberta. I don't care.
Reading Shakespeare is pointless. Plays are supposed to be watched.
Summer is the worst. It gets so hot and everything is green. It's boring.
I didn't like the Titanic movie.
I don't get why Leonardo DiCaprio is so popular.

I did not know that about zombies. If I were to think about it though... they are stiff, so I'm surprised. If think a vampire would be less likely than a zombie.

All religions are bulls**t.
I actually like Hillary Clinton.
Rihanna's "Work" is her worst song ever. Also not enthralled by Beyonce's "Formation".
I eat my pizza with a knife and fork.
Agree with #1, 2, and 4. Have no opinion on 3.

Actually, I think the world would be a better place if the only 'religion' was the golden rule -- which exists in some form in all the major religions. If people treated everyone else they way they would like to be treated...

As for pizza, I once burned my gums just behind my front teeth on pizza and to this day, it's very tender. Biting into hot pizza is painful, and eating cold pizza is blecherous.

I hate the fact that I know way too much about the Kardashians without every seeing an episode of their show or reading anything off the internet.

YYYYEESSS. It's not that I hate them because I know them. I feel like I'm being force fed a Kardashian diet everytime I turn on the tv. And the one time I finally watch an episode it was so banal, so superficial and such a turnoff to think there are people that idolize them. But even here I must add a caveat that the one who is a model actually seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. But this is entertainment? I must be in the minority given their success. I understand what Peter is saying because they are easy targets. But a little bit less of them wouldn't hurt anyone, including them.
