I much prefer Liu's style. Valieva has great extension but zero smoothness; her stroking seems entirely laboured. So yeah, I can easily see this happening, not to mention her other issues.

For that matter, when Alysa was 13, she landed two triple Adams in her FS to win US Nationals. Later she got credit for a 4Lz at JGP Lake Placid.

I realize that much of what we see on FSU comes from FS Gossips, but it appears that the loudest voices in Russian skating have not come to grips with the fallout from doping, the new age restrictions and the invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Alexei Urmanov trains a reigning Olympic Gold Medalist and appears to keep his own counsel.

The thing is one has nothing to do with the other. I am a person that does mourn for Kamila. I believe the adults in her life told her what to do and then threw her under the bus with that ridiculous lie about her grandfather. Zhulin should be condemning them. Why should Alysa even be part of this conversation? Also he was so slutty in the 90’s. Blech.

I’ve been reading about the kindness of Urmanov and the fact that he has been working away from the most popular facilities. I also understand Mikhail got next to nothing from his own federation though they are certainly gifting him now. Urmanov apparently didn’t get paid at times and Mikhail was in broken down skates for extended periods of time. I’m happy for him now.
