This was an amazing event to watch in person. There were some great women skaters tonight. They were several women who deserved to win and it’s a shame only one of them could, but Alyssa had the skater her life when she needed it unbelievable.


Now I’m sure the people sitting at home who are much more knowledgeable than the judges will have all kinds of problems with this. But that’s why we’re sitting at home and they’re sitting in the judges spot.

I do think, even though she couldn't hang on for the top 10, that Maddie Schizas should still be proud of what she did this week. Especially considering she ended up 12th and 4CC's last month and was 18th at Worlds last year.

That crowd deserves a medal of its own for creating an atmosphere that had a huge hand in energizing and inspiring the skaters. Not many athletes will ever have the chance to do their best in front of such a roaring, appreciative audience.
