I don't think there's any hating on Jason. The hating is that he was clearly gifted by the judges when he should be 4 or 5 spots lower than he is.
Good for him for performing well, but his ranking isn't right.
In theory, I don't have a problem with Jason being in the final group even without a quad. But this was just 1. not his best performance and 2. not his best program. If he skated that program perfectly, I'd have no problem with him being in the top six with a score of 93, but there's no way any of his jumps should have gotten as much GOE as they got, especially the axel. If his jumps had been on, if his showmanship was up to his usual level, no problem, but no. His performance and program was really, really good. But that's all. It wasn't great. There are days where Jason well deserves 9s, but today was not that day. I think Deniss being in Jason's place would be more justifiable honestly.

No, he was not. All the skaters you listed attempted 2 quads and failed only one of these quads. Pulkinen attempted one and failed. If anything you should be happy Danieliants 2nd mark is low enough for his clean 4T not put him above Pulkinen.
I was working and missed the first group so will take your word for it.

In theory, you obviously have a problem with this, or you would not have written this

People have lots of jumps they don't do in the SP. 🤷 It's a competition and strategy is part of it.

I know, but it did not work, even though there’s only about a point differential. I agree with people like Tara Lipinski when you get to the worlds or Olympics, that’s where you take the risks, not to be conservative or safe, you can be conservative at golden spin of Zagreb

And to quote Eteri, you don’t have the promise of tomorrow. Get out there and do it now.

Interesting comment by Lynn Rutherford on composition of the technical panel:

"#WorldsMTL24 In the men's event, generally considered to be a showdown between Japanese and U.S. skaters, there is a tech specialist from U.S. (Kubicka) & controller from Japan (Okabe)."

I believe this is in line with the ISU Code of Ethics?

"When appointing the members of the Technical Panel and the Referees for ISU Senior Championships, whenever possible, there shall be no appointments of Officials from ISU Members whose skaters can reasonably be expected to place 1 - 5 in the respective discipline. In case this is not possible, all members of the Technical Panel and the Referee for the respective discipline shall, whenever possible, be from ISU Members whose Skater(s) can reasonably be expected to place 1 - 5 in the respective discipline at the ISU Championships concerned."

It's just that instead of excluding officials from ISU members whose skaters are expected to finish 1-5, they made the whole panel from those members.

Regarding Jason's SP skate, I just have to say here that to fully appreciate it, you have to understand that the air had entirely left the building after Jin's heartbreaking result. Jason had to go up next. What normally would have been wild welcome-Jason applause as soon as he came out on the ice--I'm certain of this because said wild Jason applause happened even in practices--didn't happen as it would have because everyone was upset about Jin. This turned out to be a really tough place to skate, and a less experienced athlete than Jason would likely have struggled to stay in his own competitive zone. We were fortunate he was up next.

@Dobre said it exactly better than I could. If he’d had a truly subpar skate I don’t want to think how poor the atmosphere would have been.

On Adam,

I've absolutely been rooting for Adam this year. He is the only athlete at this Worlds that I was particularly nervous for. But also, I expected that this would be a learning experience. This is the first year he has ever been in this position, as a medal contender with the programs and jumps to contend for the podium. Usually, you have to go through that experience before you deliver; and for Adam, that has always been true.
