World Juniors 2025 - Jr Women SP

Oh dear... Yujae's having a disaster of a program - issues on every single jumping pass, including a 2f that was wonky. PCS is going to give her an undeserved boost and may be enough to keep her in the FS, but that's only if her TES holds & I expect it to drop.

One skater away from Veronika Kim making the FS.

Gah. TES held, which I question.

Kim

2a and flips out—hand reached for ice, not sure if touched, 3z-3t landed first jump with thud and had to muscle the second one, bailed on 2f in air

This is becoming a disaster for Koreans just like last year when they dropped a spot

Ooooof - random fall on nothing for Brandenburg; held onto the 3z+3t that came afterward, but it was tight and will get reviewed. Shouldn't be enough to drop her out of the top 24 or anything.

Brandenburg

3f, 2a, she is breathing life into the choreography, falls on a backwards crossover, 3z-3t I’d review lutz for edge and toe for rotation, strong components, fluke fall

Brandenburg showed what she's made of by completing that combo immediately after a fall, which much of shocked the heck out of her. She's not easily rattled.

And, she gets a SB score. Good for her.

Goidina - solid skate, similar impression as Wang - still rather restrained in her presentation. Guessing she'll slot in between Wang & Tzimpoukakis overall.

ETA - judges surprised me - ahead of Wang & only .2 behind Wada!

Very good skate by Goidina. Did a good job with the choreography. She drew me in. On the downside, the music was a bit jarring at times, the costume was odd and, of course, those tights over the boots (sigh). But, overall, very well done.

I also thought she was skating similarly to Wang, but Goidina did express more at the end of the program and the PR marks between the skaters tell the tale.

Gurgenidze

3f, 2a good, 3z-3t, making good eye contact during steps, neat and tidy

ETA: I thought there was a little wobble after lutz landing (confirmed in replay, but got high GOE for the combo

Gurgenidze - another really solid skate. I think she's going to wind up just behind Elyce.

ETA - seriously, judges? PCS above Elyce?

Gladki - another solid skate - the 3z+3t was rather careful. This dress is just too fussy for her and the blush peach color washes her out. This will go behind Goidina, could also wind up below Wang. We'll see.
