Wordle 307 3/6

Me too :)
And my first word was ANGST if you can believe it - I've mostly been starting with words that are two vowels and three consonants, but might do more consonant-heavy words because either it gets you there faster, or helps by way of elimination.

I’ve actually been trying that for about a week and it’s working out pretty well. My reasoning was who needs vowels, there are only 5 vs. 21. Not exactly a linguist here, but whatever.

After getting so many right letters in the wrong place on the second try, I said "crap". That kind of makes it harder to sort out what you already have. Hence the third guess. The fourth was luck.

I typed it in several times before submitting, didn't think that word was spelled that way. I've never been a strong speller, one reason I play games like Wordle & Spelling Bee and do crosswords.

If it wasn't an actual word, it wouldn't be in the Wordle dictionary, and it would have told you, and you wouldn't have lost your turn.

Good to see 310 got a few people and not just me lol

Later than usual today, pleased with how I figured this one out.

Anyone else been playing the Spelling Bee game that NYT links to when you finish Wordle? It's kind of fun ...
I mentioned it in a different thread a while back. I do Spelling Bee regularly, Wordle occasionally, and recently started doing Semantle. I've gotten Queen Bee by myself once or twice (plus more often with the grid/hints) but typically stop shortly after hitting Genius.

One of my greatest pleasures is a cup of tea on a Sunday morning as I dig into the puzzles in the NY Times magazine (with a pen, not online!). Spelling Bee is the only puzzle where the answers are within that issue - all the others puzzles you have to wait a week.

I just got 25 words. You have to subscribe to go to the Genius level. Maybe tell that whackadoodle on the city's chat that I don't actually have a pee (yes, that's how she spelled it) brain.
