FISU TV channel 3: https://www.fisu.tv/live-lake-placid-2023-fisu-games-1/videos/fisu-tv-3
"Livestream is geo-blocked in the US. You can watch all lives for free by changing to a region outside of the US, or on ESPN+."

Pj Kwong is the figure skating commentator in Lake Placid.

Can someone confirm that FISU TV channel 3 is working?

I had to refresh to get it to work, but first warm up group is on the ice. Ting confirmed as WD for medical reasons, so maybe it was flu/covid and not an injury?

PJ's microphone is weirdly echo-ey for me, like she's the arena commentator and the sound system is old.

Finley :fragile: Is she training less than she used to in the past? It wasn't just the jump timing that looked off here.

I don’t know. Finley Hawk was a positive surprise to emerge in the pandemic season (2020-21) but her skating hasn’t reached that level since, unfortunately (she hasn’t qualified for the past 2 Nationals).

I've had to refresh fisu stream several times because it just keeps freezing up. I also can't get any of the live scoring and results to work. Clicking on any of the result links gives me a 403 error message.
So far, ESPN+ is working ok.

Garza (MEX) and Wren Warne-Jacobsen attend the same university and have the same coach in MN, Lori Charbonneau (Kate's mother).

National champion figure skater and undergraduate researcher: Meet kinesiology student Eugenia Garza:

Frida might have some messy jump landings, but this is the first program with interesting transitions and non-stop choreography. Bonus points for the nice unitard.

Nikola Rychtarikova putting her martial arts theme to good use in the choreo sequence and landing a nice 3lutz 2toe to start. Spins were nice, as well. Fingers crossed this is a sign of good things to come in the next groups.

eta: whipping the Czech scarf around in celebration of her first place

FYI, to see total scores/standings, click/tap on the Summary link next to Results at the page Sylvia linked at the top of this thread.

Thanks. I clicked on that link over and over and the only thing I got was a 403 error message. I have now taken off the vpn and cleared the cache again and restarted my laptop. I can finally see the scores and don't get the blasted error message.

Unfortunately Mazzara did not give us the same reaction. :(

Beginning of the program was quite good, actually. Shame about opening up on her last few jumps, but even her coaches were trying to get her to cheer up. Didn't quite work

Ruegger's second half of the program is building nicely and she landed quite a few (lower) triples. That dramatic whispering in the beginning is ahem not the best musical choice.

eta: clutching a stuffed beaver as emotional support animal in the KnC so all is forgiven :D

Doboszova gets so much spring her jumps. Really nice technique. She did open up a few times (once right on the ooh-ooh on the music ), but that's something that can definitely improve over time.

Pirreda starts out so well with 2axel 1/2 loop 3sal 3lutz 2toe, then some random pops, but back on track with 3lutz 2axel 3toe. Layback spin was borderline blurry it was so fast :cheer:.

eta: Happy/pleased KnC has been restored :)

I could have picked out Pelkonen as the Finn from a country mile away -classy ombre dress, down in her knees very nicely.
3toe-3toe, 3loop, 3lutz 2toe, down on 3flip, 2axel 1/2loop single sal, 3lutz interesting illusion-y exit on her flying camel spin from catch foot, 1axel but very nice Choreo Step sequence.
I miss Jenni :fragile: 😭

eta: meh and literal shrug in the KnC

Nice 3t-3t to begin from the Finn; then landings get a little worse with each jump until a fall. Technique looks good so perchance a confidence issue. Quality steps. Convulsive Ina Bauer. Didn’t really finish/hold her ending pose.

Exactly, soon as I saw her too. Gosh I miss listening to PJ, wish she did all the skating events Ted does.

Wren’s 2023 Free Skate: Red Violin Amenouzume Version Based on "En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor", Performed by Ikuko Kawai, Choreographed by Caryn Kadavy

Also from her website: “She is a freshman at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities where she is studying Political Science, Government and Law.”

Wren :fragile: Fought so hard but jumps looked off from the beginning. That spread eagle into a a 3sal would be glorious if landed. Her spins are beautiful!

Warren-Jacobsen’s jumps looked whipped around and kinda muscled up there—something about her timing looks off. Some nice interpretation in the steps, but fairly empty before it. Good combo spin to end
