Heaven forbid, but if Medvedeva is not healthy and she has to withdraw, who could fill in her spot? Injuries can happen to anyone at any time, so if Med is healthy but one of #2 or #3 (Alina or Masha, as of now) is injured, who could be next in line? That means the first substitute.

Normally I would have said Anna, but she is out for the season. Julia has retired. So the choices may be:

Radionova
Tuktamysheva
Leonova
Tsurskaya
Sakhanovich?
Mikhailovich?

I think everyone else is age ineligible. Correct me if I am wrong.

If this unfortunate situation occurs, I wonder if they will have a skate off, or just use results of the nationals? I am sure they will name substitutes after the RN. I think Radionova may have a better chance than anyone else. Howver, Tsurskaya has the jumps to be competitive.

I think it'll be Radionova or Tsurskaya. Leonova and Tuk have fallen too far behind, and I don't think the other two have a whisper of a chance, especially not Mikhailovich.

Stasya Konstantinova would also be age eligible, but I agree, it would be either Polina or Elena.

Although I have always loved Elena, I have a new found respect for Polina. I will be happy with either of them being substitute 1.
