I am (of course). My mother used to before her knees really started bothering her, and my son played hockey for about ten years before he got his concussion.
There are people in my family who can skate well enough to have a good time on a public session or a frozen canal. But I'm the only one who can figure skate.
I almost forgot - my late father-in-law was an ice skater, and an adult ice dancer. We still have an old competition program from the 1970s where he competed compulsory dances although we never found any medals even though he placed well. He gave up ice dancing as he got older for roller dancing - skating with a partner on roller skates. We actually have a photo of him with his young partner back in the 1980s on our living room table. He was in his late 60s at the time, and she was at least 30 years younger. I remember him being upset when she dropped him as a partner for someone more her own age!
My 3 kids & I skate. I used to be on a low-level precision skating team back in the 80s. My 2 girls are figure skaters, and my son is on a youth travel hockey team.
