What are your favorite 19-20 programs so far?????

Now that the JGP is almost over and about half the senior Bs and all test skates and camps are complete.... what are your favorite programs thus far? I am so excited for this season!!! Even though I havent seen Tennell, Uno, Hubbell & Donohue, N.Chen, Zagitova (I know others have) Im still excited about programs. What are yours? Here are mine!

Papadakis & Cizeron - RD... O-M-G.... CHILD!!!!!
Smart & Diaz - RD.. Again, O-M-G
Scimeca-Knierim & Knierim - Both SP and Free
Chock & Bates - RD and FD!!!!
Cain-Gribble & LeDuc - Free
Medeveda - Free
Bell - Free
A. Liu - Free
Miyahara - Free

Of that list, Chock & Bates RD and Miyahara LP for sure.

(P/C RD? um, no thanks. And Evgenia can't even stand next to Miyahara's execution of that music)

The other one that stands out is Kihira SP. If she was only a bit more of a performer...

I'm sure there are others (Tomono, Rizzo, Peng/Jin have good stuff this year) but those are THE three that extracted an audible 'wow' from me.

Tarasova-Morozov SP
Miyahara's FS
Chock and Bates FD
Kihira's FS

There is some really good choreography this season!

I do not have many favorites quite this early. More, programs with the potential to become favorites.

But Makita & Gunara's Hairspray RD is a favorite program now.

I also think Alysa's LP, Guignard & Fabbri's FD, Wang & Liu's RD, Hurtado & Khaliavin's RD, Popova & Mozgov's RD, both of Karen's programs, and the first 3/4 of Shanaeva & Narizhnyy's FD are pretty great. Think Aymoz and Kagiyama have good material. Vincent & Rizzo have nice SPs. Gogolev's has potential too. Scimeca-Knierem & Knierem have very nice vehicles for them. Hawayek & Baker's FD has a lot of potential. Tarasova & Morozov's free is the best thing they've ever done. Ting, Hiwatashi, McNamara & Carpenter, and Yelim all have programs that are a bit more on the unpolished diamond side, but there are signs I will probably be sucked in upon more viewings and strong performances (also because I love these athletes, I am more susceptible). Marin's La La Land is charming. I also like Sabrina so I will probably really like Eunsoo's free as she gains confidence in the performance.

So, yeah, a LOT of programs with the potential to become my favorites. And this without yet having seen Sui & Han at all.

So far I really like:
1) Popova and Mozgov’s Rhythm Dance. Hilarious, and I thoroughly enjoy the over-the-top outfits!
2) Both of Eunsoo Lim’s programs. Classy choreography and beautiful costumes.
3) Keiji Tanaka’s Hip Hip Chin Chin. Such a cool, really different feel to the program. Suits him super well and brings out his dancing ability.

There are a lot! Some really interesting choreo this season.

Definitely G/F’s, Chock/bates, and Hawayek/Baker’s FDs. Love Madonna RD from young Brits. I really enjoyed the young Japanese team’s Chorus Line RD, Canadians’ Hairspray, Bonnie and Clyde. P/C’s SD might be my favorite thing from them ever....

Both of Satoko’s programs, Med’s and Scher’s LPs, Cain/Leduc LP, T/M finally have a good long program and Aymoz’ LP. Mariah’s LP. There are more but that’s what I can think of. Oh yeah, I’m in the minority but like Trusova’s LP.

And because I’m that kind of Debbie Downer, I’m sort of disappointed in G/P and SinKats FDs.

I agree! I'm pleasantly surprised with what we've seen so far. Some better variety in music, too.

Off the top of my head. This is heavy on juniors, as their season is obviously much further along.

If you don't follow juniors, absolutely watch Kazakova/Reviya's FD. They're a revelation this season, and I hope they're gonna be huge.

I’ve seen this program before
Fantastic choreography but I just don’t think they have any real understanding of the music. They don’t relate to it or each other very much.

It’s a nice departure as far as ice dance programs go, but I just think it’s beyond their skill set.

This is something Hubbell and Donoghue could kill.

I really like the sass that is Liza's free skate. This is why we need professional competition again. Chances are she will not make the Russian team and yet she still has so much to offer. We can say that about so many Russian and Japanese ladies.

I’m a big fan of G/F’s spaceman FD, Schindler’s List, H/B’s comic flamenco and Kaori’s Matrix. The junior Canadians’ Hairspray RD is so much fun, I don’t know why a senior team didn’t pick that music. I also love Satako’s somber long program.
