Often we speak about certain skaters being especially versatile or having a wide artistic range.
What do we mean by those terms?
Do they refer to genre or to other kinds of movement/expressive qualities that may remain similar across genres?
Is it more about type of music chosen or what the skater does with the music?
Do we award the praise across a body of work (giving older/more experienced skaters an advantage)? Should exhibition and professional performances be figured in the evaluations?
Do/should judges care? I.e., should versatility somehow be rewarded in competition scores?
There is criterion for "variety and contrast" within the Performance program component, but that's more on a micro level.
