Not too much new but here is a video from Global Athlete. It does question the lack of punishment for anyone in authority and whether it will cause more athletes to be fed drugs.

Eteri and co definitely should have been punished. The adults failed her and explore her.Not too much new but here is a video from Global Athlete. It does question the lack of punishment for anyone in authority and whether it will cause more athletes to be fed drugs.
Not only that but the trolls and bots insults, whining and gaslighting all over social media. It's hard ugly. If Russia doesn't want to play by the rules and accept responsibility, they shouldn't be allowed back.Holding russian athletes to the same standard as other countries is 'warfare against russia'?
I really don't want to see any more russian athletes if it means putting up with the massive self-pity parties and 'poor me!' whining.... so un-olympic....
Russian athletes are held to a totally different standard!! Meldonium was nothing. A placebo. Nothing. No researchers ever showed it being a PED. It was a total fraud of a marketing campaign like Dr Oz cheap vitamins. But yet it was banned because of Russians taking it. Russians were suspended. Medals taken away! Banned from Olympics. But it was and remains nothing.Holding russian athletes to the same standard as other countries is 'warfare against russia'?

Then they really have no excuse for using it.Russian athletes are held to a totally different standard!! Meldonium was nothing. A placebo. Nothing. No researchers ever showed it being a PED. Yes but the huge punishments made no sense! That’s the example of persecutionThen they really have no excuse for using it.
You're just proving our point with all your constant whining.Yes but the huge punishments made no sense! That’s the example of persecution
You know, Eddie Murphy once talked about a family member of his being a Goonie Goo Goo. His description of a Goonie Goo Goo was sort of like a big foot, troll or something similar to Lurch Addams.Yes but the huge punishments made no sense! That’s the example of persecution
Maybe you need to get in your time machine and go back to 2016 and convince the WDA of how wrong they were to ban it?Meldonium was nothing. A placebo. Nothing
Yes, coaches and/or regulatory bodies facing repurcussions would do wonders to clean things up.... if that is actually anyone's goal....the lack of punishment for anyone in authority
Even more reason for them to stop using a drug that does nothing yet carries such big penalties.Yes but the huge punishments made no sense! That’s the example of persecution
why do you like your ass getting handed to you so muchYes but the huge punishments made no sense! That’s the example of persecution
New: IOC member Dick Pound tells me re: ROC over CAN for team bronze: “Clearly there has been an error made. It should not require a legal proceeding. The math is not rocket science. An error was made & needs to be corrected asap. The longer it goes on, the worse the ISU looks.”
I hope he gets lots of photos from a wonderful gold medal ceremony.Vincent has finally made a public statement on his social media and it is just as eloquent and touching as one would expect from him. Words cannot express how happy I am that he can call himself an Olympic Gold Medalist.
And, according to what Phil Hersh said in his TSL interview, it sounds like the IOC immediately knew that and his IOC sources told him so.dick pound isn't wrong
Doesn't make you less right, either. The nastier you are doesn’t make you any less wrong
Talking to a mirror? The nastier you are doesn’t make you any less wrong
The IOC did NOT award the bronze to Russia. The ISU did that, and now the IOC is saying publicly that the ISU got it wrong. My guess is that by wrongly awarding the bronze to ROC the IOC deliberately paved the way to awarding two team bronzes. Whereas awarding it to Canada from the outset would have shut the ROC completely out of the medals.
Russia should be shut out of the medals. The new scores drop them down to 4th, when you do the math. Russia is lucky to have not been disqualifiedMy guess is that by wrongly awarding the bronze to ROC the IOC deliberately paved the way to awarding two team bronzes. Pretty much exactly what I was thinking (though my thoughts didn't express it as clearly and concisely as you have).IOC deliberately paved the way to awarding two team bronzes
Once again - the IOC was not responsible for the distribution of medals. That was up to the ISU. The ISU (either because they're stupid, and/or because they want to appease the Russians) got the math wrong. And now the IOC is saying publicly that the ISU got it wrong.Pretty much exactly what I was thinking (though my thoughts didn't express it as clearly and concisely as you have).
And this is what it looks like using the Leonardo da Vinci mirror writing technique. The nastier you are doesn’t make you any less wrong
You're right. But I still think the likely end result is that two bronzes will be awarded. The IOC did NOT award the bronze to Russia. The ISU did that, and now the IOC is saying publicly that the ISU got it wrong.

Dick Pound's influence at the IOC is limited. He's been on the outs for many years now.
December 31 saw a seismic moment for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) - after 44 years, Richard William Duncan Pound will cease to be a full IOC member, having passed the applicable age-limit of 80.
That explains why he's willing to speak out.Dick Pound's influence at the IOC is limited. He's been on the outs for many years now.
