I might go with no. She's amazing but in 1987, she capitalized on some surprising errors from Shushunova and especially Silivas.

There was talk about how Elena Gurova should've competed later in the Soviet line-up at the 1987 World gymnastics championships. Competing 2nd in the line-up meant that she got some very low scores. If she had competed later in the line-up and received higher scores like she arguably deserved, would the Soviet Union have been able to hold onto their lead after the compulsory round over Romania?
