It is not the first time that I read something like that. So Maia tried with someone else? I remember someone saying that he skated with her but he got injured or something like that. Well, I am mean, but I am glad that this poor kid stepped aside.
 
Interesting. I admit I am always curious how Maia and Alex would do dancing with other unrelated partners, but that's what Dancing with the Stars is for...;)

That's an interesting topic for discussion. If you could pair Alex and Maia with other partners (just for fun), which partners would you choose? Personally, I would love to see Alex in a passionate, hot tango with Meryl. Maia, maybe Scott Moir or Buhkin would be interesting.
 
Alex with Sara Hurtado or Kana M. , Maia with Jean-Luc, Luca L. or Pavel D. And since S/H are practically ice dancers, I would love Alex with Sui and Maia with Han :swoon:
 
Alex and Kana would be cool to see. With Maia, I'm gonna go bold and way younger and say Anthony Ponomorenko. That kid has future gold medalist written all over him. I think they would balance each other out really well.
 
I wouldn't. I am so, so glad they stayed together.

They are the first of four U.S. dance teams that I fell in love with while watching at the novice & junior level who have stayed together as a team.

And that has made all the difference.

Okay, things are not looking good, Kolyada was overscored, B/S were so close to Maia and Alex :rolleyes: and now, ridiculously, T/M are practically tied with S/H. Definitely judges are with Russians here, maybe they want to favor them because of all what happened with the ban and Bukin/Ksenia. I am just waiting for the overscoring for B/S in the individual event :wall:.
 
To be fair, Kolyada is almost always given very generous scores, and that was probably the best T/M have ever skated. B/S were the outlier because they were def overscored. But that's a topic for another thread. Maia and Alex now know they are going to have to fight for every level, and they'll take it to this panel like they did to Dostatni!
 
Also, for all you non-US people who don't get to watch Ice Talk, they were recapping the team FD and Tanith was totally onboard with the latest version of Paradise. She said that it had everything is was missing earlier in the season and that it was a "revelation." She has been a little slow to praise this FD, so I think that just speaks to the Shibs finding just the right tone with this version. I can't wait to see it again.

Why do I keep missing all of their Instagram lives, it’s not fair :wuzrobbed

I wish there was footage somewhere of Maia and Alex losing their minds watching Mirai’s skate that someone could release for us to see, lol.

Maia is almost at 200k followers on instagram, wow! Alex doing pretty well at 174k too. They’ve both gotten a lot more followers during these Games so far.

I admit that I'm worried that since T/M did not medal in pairs that there might be an even bigger push to get B&S to the podium. Hopefully the Shibs can perform like they're capable of and the skating will be able to speak for itself.

While I think I prefer the sexiness that can come from romantic chemistry between a non-biologically related pair, I also say that the sibling pairing can really work when they seem to have a good relationship. I just watched those Shib Sib videos posted above, and they’re a lot of fun. It’s IMMEDIATELY apparent that they’re siblings because that’s how they interact with each other, but it’s also like they are siblings who get along and really have fun skating together. It’s like if Ross and Monica had actually been talented dancers AND skaters when they came up with The Routine. It can still be a whole hell of a lot of fun, even if it’s not sexy.

I love Friends :D.
