The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Here is a random thought:

Why has Hannah Lim and Ye Quan not done a FD based on a kdrama, more specifically a historical kdrama like Mr. Sunshine or Scarlet Heart Ryeo? That all
I wonder if they feel like the music wouldn’t be familiar to a non-Asian audience and the audience wouldn’t get behind them in the way they might with Will Smith music. Or their choreographers aren’t familiar with Korean music (which they should be if they are doing choreography for Korean teams)

Just want to say that a comp like Lake Placid gives you plenty of opportunities to see new talent, young up-and-comers etc, in addition to the names we all know.

Of course, it also gives us opportunities to root for young teams who will split, get injured, grow into the wrong body type or get done in by bad coaching. C’est la vie.

And the Waltz Goes On by Andre Rieu

And composed by Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Tessa and Scott's SD music in 2012-13. AFAIK, they were the first skaters to use it.
I am a fan of Carhart/Bledsoe (as I was of V/M). Am just mildly amused that MZ is reusing the music.

Congratulations to the Belgian juniors for second place in the LP FD. (With two of the U.S. teams very close behind them in the FD.)
I hope the Belgians reach new heights at their JGPs.

I hope this season doesn't become as monotonous and dull as these RDs seem. Sigh. Why the need to make dance so unappealing? I really do hope that the same sex pairs take off. Maybe a new dynamic and interest will emerge.

After this season, the teams at the top that already performed a waltz RD at Worlds will probably be done. I think you will then have quite a decent chance of getting your waltz.

Let's hope we are done with these decade RD. Usually, there are big rule changes after every Olympics. The RD right now feels like a mini FD, especially with the Choreo Sequence.

You're fooling yourself if you believe this. Rettstatt has a clear aversion to any of the old ballroom styles. We're never ever getting a waltz or foxtrot again as long as he is in charge.

Well, I don't care for the waltz or the foxtrot either; but I hardly think they're in danger unless the ice dance committee throws out the RD altogether & replaces it with a short program. Which would undermine the entire concept & sport of ice dance, IMO; but which I could see happening.

Well, they've done their level best to avoid a waltz or foxtrot pattern step for, what 5-6 seasons now? It's not as if there aren't plenty of songs with a waltz beat that could be used for a '90s theme, so it's just disappointing that they keep avoiding it and we wind up saddled with RDs that are more of the same (with even less chance of going viral as a result) even when dressed up with the veneer of a different decade theme.
