The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

I've got way too much time on my hands right now for you to toy with me like this. Paul's costume was the ugliest thing I've ever seen in 40+ years of following the sport of figure skating.
I dunno, there’s many contenders for that title, but it’s definitely Top Ten. The Georgian pair team last season hit the quadfecta, all four costumes were horrible.

It was a Masterpiece and I will defend it until the end, as was the orange jumpsuit. Other teams need to take lessons from them and step it up. And when I say step it up I mean it wholeheartedly.

First sneak peek of Grimm/Rodin:

Hi guys! Thanks for giving me a few days to weigh in with a title suggestion. Anyway, Lake Placid is already about to start so obviously we need a final decision. I tried to post a poll with all the suggestions, but I posted by accident mid-edit when I was writing the title so the headline now says, "New Dance Hall ttle poll" instead of "New Dance Hall Title poll." But hopefully the rest of the poll works so go ahead & vote. (I set it for 5 days). Also, if you have admin privileges & can edit the thread title, by all means go for it.

Here is a random thought:

Why has Hannah Lim and Ye Quan not done a FD based on a kdrama, more specifically a historical kdrama like Mr. Sunshine or Scarlet Heart Ryeo? That all
Maybe it’s not the right timing? I’d love to see it in the future. Since it’s the Olympic season and all they might just want to go with something that’s safe and familiar with international judges. From what I understand the new FD will be more similar in vibe to their very successful Umbrellas FD.

My question is why not do a 90s Kpop song for the RD? Come on Kaitlyn Weaver literally did the “Asia: Pop Precision & Cultural Fusion. Kpop in the 90s” slide for them.

Because it's too obvious. They already did the "Gangnam Style" RD in 2021-22, so what's the point of revisiting the Kpop music well again this season?

Because Korean music is more than just one piece of music? Idk you wouldn’t say what’s the point of revisiting the American pop music again would you?

Agree. The strategy hasn’t hurt the Disco Brits.
Frankly, I think it's more than a little offensive to think they SHOULD have chosen 90s K-pop. Why them? Why not the Peals? Or the Browns? Or Les Gacs?

My point is that the last time we had a hip-hop theme (and, yes, I realize the RD themes are somehwat different, but they're similar enough), which was just 4 seasons ago, they DID go with a K-pop star, so why be disappointed that they didn't go with K-pop again now? The Disco Brits didn't go with a British band in 2021-22 for their RD - they went with KISS. While many are pleased when French teams choose French music from those eras, we also wouldn't bat an eye or decry them if they went with an American artist. Are we going to be upset if Reitan/Majorov don't pick a popular 90s Swedish musician for their RD this year? There are plenty of those who've made it big in the English-speaking commercial music industry.

Because there is too much dependence on English music in skating and who would be more likely to be familiar with Korean music than the Korean citizens who speak some level of Korean????

But anyway they could have hit two birds with one stone by using the covers of 90s kpop done in my favorite kdrama of all time, Hospital Playlist. The world needs to have their collective lives changed by Cho Jungseok's voice.
