Tarasova/Morozov Cheer Thread

Hey! I see this thread hasn't been updated all season! Hello, Evgenia and Vlad family, are you still there LOL?
Just want to say, besides today's SP, this couple has impressed me all season with strong performances.
Is Evgenia still injured? I find it odd that she fell twice after so many strong SP's.

News: Evgenia and Vladimir will skate at Rostelecom Cup and Internationaux de France (Bompard) on the Grand Prix circuit.

They'll face Stolbova/Klimov at COR and James/Cipres at IDF, will be very interesting!

Yes, we are still here ;) Normally I would have updated this thread as the season went along but people were complaining about how boring they were so I didn't think anyone was interested. I did manage to get pics of them at SA and Worlds. France didn't have open practice session so I came away empty handed :biggrinbo Passed by them outside of Helsinki's main train station and saw them in the corridors at the Sears Centre!!! So those are my boring contributions from this season :p I can post the pictures since I am off today and tomorrow but like I said, nobody seems interested in them so yeah don't want to waste the time/effort :p

Glad they are working with Peter T on both their programs! Maybe he can give them something brilliant (fingers crossed). I did love their GLAM SP that he did! PCS can lag behind the top teams if everyone hits so hopefully they are given 2 great programs this season that puts them right there with S/H & S/M.

And I think they can take J/C just fine, not underestimating them, they are great but when T/M hit, they are a better :D Beating S/K will depend on how good T/M programs are, who the fed thinks is their #1s (if they both hit, whose #1 ) and can they hit their LP. Good luck to them! I'll be cheering madly for them :cheer2:

Tarasova/Morozov got a lot of flack this season from skating fans. But I'm still interested in them, anyway. :-)

It's actually a bit weird that their level of success this season seemed to be almost inversely related to the amount of negativity they got from fans. It's one of those cases where fans were clearly seeing one thing, while judges were seeing something else entirely.

Personally, I think their "Glam" SP 100% worked for them (as shown by their scores), and the Music LP suffered from some cheese factor, but I didn't hate it nearly as much as a lot of fans did.

I'm hoping for some great programs for them next season, and also an improvement in their on-ice chemistry. I think that's an area where they can grow.

I have to admit I loved the "Music" LP. I always hated the song, and it's not what I would have picked for them all, but I can't help but grin while I'm watching, especially at the fist-pumpy 80s part.

the only problem with them were boring programs. Their elements are certainly not boring...so...I loved their short this year but y es....was underwhelmed with the long. Most likely she was off the ice for a bit before WTT letting her stiches heal but if they get good programs this year lookout world.

As I said in the pairs thread, this team should not try to be something they're not just to become (supposed) fan favourites. They're improving with each season, and (for the most part) getting credit for their skating skills and grade of execution. With likely many retirements post Pyeongchang (perhaps even Sui/Han), they could very well be the team to catch in the next quadrennial.

@DobrinFan hi! I actually don't find them boring at all. I love all pairs to a fault (and Stolbova, Savchenko, and Duhamel are my queens for life) but Evgenia and Vladimir really impressed me this season and I've grown to like them.

@clairecloutier I 100% agree, their SP was great for them. The only thing that annoyed me this season was that the judges were turning a blind eye to some of their lift problems...but that's the judges' work, not the skaters'.

They have the techical content but are still very young and with such demanding elements, they need to concentrate on them. With more experience they will be better equipped to concentrate on what's missing now - the ability to play out to the audience which will make them more charismatic and popular.

So glad to find this thread. T/M is my favorite team now. Really love their SP and exhibition program this past season. Can't wait to see their new SP and LP.

I don't find them boring at all. I like their classical, pure, style. The LP music was just wrong for them this season. They need to go back to being themselves, and use their technical talent to get high scores. The pcs will come if they skate consistently, like they did last season.

A classical short! :cheer: good one

a fun LP? What do they mean by fun exactly.. :shuffle: wasn't last years LP already fun enough for everybody? Maybe it'll be more like their short.

I didn't realize they were a couple off ice, because I must be living under a rock, they're extremely cute together though! :40beers:

They do look cute indeed! I hope their new programmes are great. With so much technical talent and improving in presentation, they deserve good choreography and costumes.

I don't understand Russian very well anymore, but I found a video on Youtube about them, done at the time of their GPF win. I think the voiceover mentions that they have been together both off and on ice for 5 years (impressive for a relationship that started out in the teenaged years!). For any Russian speakers, what does Vladimir's mom say? It looks like she's telling a cute story but it's lost on me. Bad Amy, I should have never stopped trying to study/practice Russian. :COP:

Anyways, they are adorable and are extremely photogenic. Evgenia's instagram is full of cute couple pics. I wish they could have competitive programs that bring out their natural chemistry with each other.

You can see the natural chemistry in the way that they move though, the unison and matching lines are extremely impressive. They skate like a true pair, are very finished off everywhere, and that's why they could pull off more subtle music better than most of the teams. The only thing they're missing as a pair is two programs that help them perform more naturally IMO.

I have known for about two seasons that they are a couple off the ice. Why can't they use it to skate romantic program? They are classical skaters with strong tech ability. They could create beautiful programs. Instead they skate to music that's so wrong for them!-speaking of their LP.

I am not so excited about their new FP music but I definitely enjoyed her FP last season. They are a couple off the ice but I don´t feel the chemistry, I don´t think a romantic program is a good idea for the Olympic season.

LP sigh...................

if they improve the costumes and get all the elements correctly, this program can look something decent. They need to show emotion but they do not know how to fake it, it has to be real and they will only get it nailing all their elements, a bit similar to what happens with Meagan.
