Powerful music, and performance, but without clean technical content it's just not enough to be competitive.

Very solid skate across the board for Anastasiia, and the best performance of the day so far. A few technical issues that may keep her from taking the lead.

68.08 = 2nd Place

Excellent from Guba, great performance and clean. Is that Georgian music?

I think I was hoping for something different from Hendrickx than another party program. Technical issues on the jumps are going to be costly.

Her steps were good but her jumps were underwhelming. Apparently she was injured or is coming off an injury?

Fun comp.

Adeliia - haven't paid attention to Russian skating since 2022 so wasn't sure what to expect from her. Jumps were very underwhelming but everything else solid and a fun program.

Gubanova - she really came here on a mission. good to see her deliver.

Loena - yuck this program feels like a 16th place ice dance finisher from a late oughts worlds. decent enough given her time off. overscored but to be expected.

Zhang - so many bonkers cuts to that song but was solid.

also randomly really liked the Malaysian skater, Audrey Lee. she was a nice surprise and delight from the early groups.

I expected more from Petro based on all the previous hype. Not sure if it was nerves, but the choreo seemed like she was going through the motions or the choreo was just weak. Jump combo was good. Not huge GOE on everything and fair PCS. Judges weren't going all in yet, which is promising.
Agreed! I was expecting more emotion/presentation - she mimicks the choreo well and does what she is told, but she doesn’t ’feel the music’ or interpret it to the same level as other top senior skaters. She isn’t winning at the Olympics with quads unless she can show more artistry. I enjoy her technical skating, but it isn’t enough and I am not seeing the growth from Junior.

Given that Petrosian is an Eteri skater with Danny G choreo, I'm not sure why anyone would expect emotion or presentation. Disclaimer: I didn't see her skate but after reading the posts here I have no desire to.

Loena hasn't competed in a year and probably just needs to shake off the nerves. Hopefully, the FS will go better.

I'm having a very strong memory watching Risa Gomez four years ago, and that she imploded when she was in a position to earn a spot at the Olympics. A wonderful skate, and lovely performance.

59.30 = 4th Place
Huh? She was first senior eligible in 22/23 season🧐

I loved Adelia Petrosyan’s skate. She has grown in height and performance ability. Loved the Michael Jackson medley, starting with Earth song and ending with They don’t really care about us.
It’s a shame she made a mistake on the 3 Lz but she fought for the landing. Otherwise she would have lost a lot more points. I really enjoyed the way she skated. Loved the shiny red top with black pants too - memories of Michael Jackson.
