Yes, the future is hard to predict, but what do we think? I could imagine it both ways, but I think to be safe they may fall back on this year's format?

I think that either way, the ISU and/or the host Federations will all require skaters, coaches, judges, etc. to have vaccination cards.

Completely dependent on what travel restrictions are like -- SCI definitely couldn't be held in its standard format with the two-week quarantine period in place.

Agree with everyone that it depends on quarantine rules.
But maybe it would be easier to have the same skaters do Cup of China and NHK, the same group do Skate America and Skate Canada, and the same group do Rostelecom and WhateverFrenchCompany Trophy.

Impossible to make plans, but I have a feeling that there will be a majority vaccinated in the chief FS countries. I say regular competitions but skaters, crews, judges, and spectators have to show proof of vaccination to attend

Skaters, in particular, are in such a low-priority health and age group (and, in the case of many, are teenagers who aren't even approved to be vaccinated right now) that I wouldn't bet on most of them getting the vaccine by the fall in quite a few countries.

Which US skaters at the senior level are you thinking are minors? Liu, Thorngren, Shin, Malinin, Naumov, Lu. The Pfizer vaccine is already approved for 16+. Alysa Liu will be 16 by August 8. Most Olympic hopefuls will be 16+ soon if not already, right?

We saw how much pull sports teams have to get testing for the sake of sports happen before testing was available for general population.
Hopefully I'm wrong and everyone waits their turn.
I do think the 2021 GP events will happen at a modified level (countries have a block they belong to and athletes stay in that block).

I vote for the old format..... but I would like to see them open the fields to include skaters who have not had many chances in part due to conditions and situations of where they train or live. Meaning I don’t want to see just the six events being Japan versus USA versus Russia versus Korea. I hope the sport can be inclusive to all regardless of ISU points or standings next season!
One thing I've seen multiple figures in Russian skating talking about (one was Zakarian, not sure about the others) is that they themselves don't think it's good for the sport for Russia to be completely dominant; they think for the sport to thrive, there need to be skaters and fans in other countries and at least Zakarian seemed genuinely concerned about the drop in interest in the US. Not to say that everyone in Russian skating feels that way, but I think it's interesting to see quotes like that coming from people who are prominent in the arguably strongest federation going right now.

Look at my post above yours, that’s what’s been on my mind as well. Even if they don’t or won’t even come close to medaling I just like to see some skaters have opportunities where training was hit hard. I also want the sport to have longevity and thrive not just become a big four country sport!
