God that sucked. Mainly because we were the underdogs in this game that I was just hoping we kept it close. Then they went and got me all hopeful and excited with a 1-0 with 2 minutes left. ...

Well fought ! I know six or seven of the American players are from Minnesota. I doubt they will be in the mood for a White House visit. Also the number of current college students surprised me—especially from Wisconsin. The Badgers must be one powerful college team. Anyway it did feel like the team was playing their best at just the right time. It doesn’t always happen that way.

Hockey is huge in Wisconsin, both the main University and the state. Even some of the public high schools have rinks.

Minnesota is similar to Oregon with somewhere between 40-45% of the electorate voting for the non-dominant party in a blue state. I'd want to know where in Minnesota they're from before I race to any misinformed guesses about which way they lean politically and whether or not they'd want to make a trip to the White House.

As a Minnesotan, I'll answer this. Our president, in his wisdom, sent a hostile force to occupy our state against the wishes of its political leadership. Chaos reigned. Two people were murdered. Can you understand why there might be some hard feelings, no matter what your political POV?
