Quantifying a Best Programs/Performances List

We always as a group on FSU try a lot of off-season games or ideas, whether it be mock judging older competitions or creating lists of favorite programs/best performances to pieces of music, etc.

If there were to be a formula to determine a skaters best program or a best program of a season, or any way of giving it a final 'score' for measuring any kind of comparison, what would your criteria be and how do you think you would split it up percentage-wise?

In other words, rather than listing all of Michelle Kwan's free skates and putting them in a list one by one, imagine there is a set of criteria that you plug your own rankings into (wither it be 1 to 10, 1 to 5, A to F, star rankings, whatever-- but most likely a numbered scale) that then spits out a final number.

General examples: overall quality, emotion, technical performance (split this up even more to specific types of elements?), music choice, program concept, costuming?, audience investment?

Basically what I'm asking for here are what are the major criteria you would put into determining what your favorites are, and if possible, how you would break it up into a formula.

If it were best performance of a season - I'm presuming you mean comparing multiple performances of the same program - then you could use protocols to guide as to which would potentially be judged to be the best technical performance but just because one performance was awash with +3's doesn't automatically mean it was the best technical quality version....but it could be an indicator. Certainly I would then look at how well the skater was on their music. Many performances of the same program offer up subtle differences. This came up for me this week when two performances of Kwan's Rach SP appeared on youtube. I'd never seen either but she is so much more on the music in one compared to the other despite them being technically very comparable in their execution. Without doubt the more musical performance then has to be the better version when comparing the two.
