OES News 2016-2017

She has one, but the only thing it includes is her birth date. (Unless her CS result was added since yesterday.)

I did look before and didn't see anything, but it's there now. :unsure:

Her ISU Competition Results page is quite blank at the moment.

A quick look at Wikipedia for Russian Nationals and Junior Nationals indicates that she's never competed there. International woman of mystery, that one.

:watch:

don't know where to ask exactly?
what'S with pavel roman memorial this year?
should've been at this weekend.
can't find anything.

someone has some infos?

Cross-posting here and in the Belgian Nationals competition thread in Kiss & Cry:

I came across 2 promotional videos of Belgium's Hendrickx siblings.

Jorik's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2XnfUhvUoM

Loena's video (includes Jorik): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uCYBaaD4pk

She is 17 (link to her ISU bio: http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00014747.htm ) and just won her first senior national title earlier this month, attempting 5 triples (Lutz, 2 flips, 2 sals) with 4 cleanly landed in her FS (120.56) and landing 3Lz+3T<< in her SP (56.63).

Jorik attempted 4T (first time in competition?) in his Nationals FS but fell and the jump was downgraded <<.

Both Jorik and Loena will represent Belgium at 2017 Europeans and Worlds.

have no clue in which thread to ask this question, so admins, feel free to move it :p

after the nrw-trophy-ws-points will be added, galustyan and schott do have the exact same sum of points.
in that, they will be 12th/13th euros skater which will be the decider spot for the penultimate flight for euros (if no one surpasses them anymore, which seems unlikely).

how are the rules here? who gets in the penultimate draw group?
@Sylvia ? @kwanfan1818 ?
anyone else?

thanks.

This year the ISU issued Communication 2042 in which the ISU Council "clarified that the starting order for all ISU Figure Skating Events (including the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating individual events and Final) as well as the Olympic Winter Games and Winter Youth Olympic Winter Games will be in line with the provisions of Rule 513 as stated in the 2016 Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating/Ice Dance. This means that a Draw in line with the detailed provisions of Rule 513 for both the Short Program/Dance and the Free Skating/Free Dance will be conducted. The only exceptions apply to the Figure Skating Team Events." (Team events include the Olympic Team Event and World Team Trophy, start order rules TBD.)

Rule 513 is:

"The draw for starting order of the Competitors for each Segment of the event shall be conducted as follows:
1. Short Program/Short Dance or Pattern Dance(s):
a) i) select a Competitor to draw for the ISU Member to start the draw;
ii) draw the starting order of the Competitors proceeding in alphabetical order by ISU Member from the ISU Member drawn to start;
82
This procedure does not apply to ISU Championships and Olympic Winter Games (see Rule 520, paragraph 1)."

Rule 520 is the "earlier group" and "later group" logic. However, Communication 2042 appears to contradict the exception, which means that all of the starting groups for the SP's/SD's are random for all Championships and individual events at the Olympics. The FS groups for singles at championships are 6-6-6-6 (unless there are WD's, but that won't impact the last two groups), and the start orders for the FS are the same as for GP's: for all but the last two groups, there is a random draw within groups. For the last two groups, they're broken into halves, and there's a random draw within each half. (For Dance, where there are five in a group for the FD, the halves are the two lowest-scoring SD's in the penultimate and last groups and the three highest-scoring SD's in the penultimate and last groups.)

ISU Rule 925:

In the event of tied world standings points, which ever skater is deemed to have the more dramatic, camp, and early '90s program (LP) music will be seeded into the later flight of skaters.

COLOR OF THE NIGHT wins this is a landslide, baby! :cheer: :drama: Congrats Galustyan! :p
