Two rival Presidents of the Ukrainian Federation of Figure Skating (UFFK) have become embroiled in a legal dispute after the former head accused the other of being elected illegitimately.
Mykhailo Makarov, elected President of the national governing body on August 25, has been accused of "raider seizure" by predecessor Yevhen Larin, who does not recognise the election.
He still considers himself the legitimate President and is still listed in the position on the UFFK website.
Makarov, however, claims not to be worried by the impending court case.
"There was no transferring of cases after the conference," he told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
"We have sent an appeal to Mr. Larin to transmit all available documentation.

Member of the Presidium of the Figure Skating Federation, first president of UFFK Liudmyla Mykhailovska, said that sponsors have been found since new management took over.
“They love figure skating and want to invest money in it,” she said.
Assistance was rendered to the first dance couple Oleksandra Nazarova/Maksym Nikitin, who are developing their skills in the U.S. now with the help of famous ice coach Igor Shpilband.

Nazarova/Nikitin won the bronze at Coupe de Nice last month and are scheduled to compete in one GP, Trophée de France, in Paris next week.

That is what I remember hearing, too. By August 2015, at least, she already had an Israeli passport.

Getting an Israeli citizenship, if one is Jewish or has fairly close Jewish heritage (at least one Jewish grandparent) is fairly easy, compared to most other citizenship/immigration procedures.

Isabella told the press at 2016 Europeans that she acquired Israeli citizenship after consulting with her lawyers about which country would be most feasible for she and Ilia to get passports for after Deividas retired. So it appears that she applied for Israel after naturalizing as a Lithuanian which would lead to an involuntary loss of that citizenship.

I read another Lithuanian article that said Stagniunas was supportive of her skating for Israel because he retired due to recurring injuries and the fact that it's so difficult to find a suitable partner.

According to the article, the quality of ice in Toruń is getting worse and worse (so are the general conditions at that rink - apparently, there are icicles hanging from the roof as the temperature is so low). As a result, Natalia and Maks had a very nasty fall and Natalia skated over her partner's fingers. Luckily, she didn't cut them off, but the wounds were deep enough to need stitches. They intend to participate in their GP events anyway...

As for Petranovic/S-K - their plans seem very ambitious. Hopefully, they're also attainable :). Good luck, we all need a good Croatian pair (cough-Amy Ireland/Michael Bahoric-cough).

They also posted articles from the press. Lana spoke openly how during the test skate in Moscow, she was immediately told to lose 6 kilos, which she did and needs to lose one more.

I must have missed this, but what happened with Michael Lueck? I thought they had a pretty good start last season.
 
@SlavicaK - they had no future. He wasnt landing 2axel and they were not advancing together. This is a much more prosperous partnership for Petranovic (and Sousa Kordejr). Plus, Lueck is much older.
 
Chernyavskaya/Krasnapolski got the Euros TES minimums at the Volvo Open Cup this week. They're close to the Worlds minimums; they scored 24.36 in the SP, just .64 shy of the 25-point TES minimum, and 41.04 in the FS, close to two points shy of the 43-point TES minimum.

I understand there's a population race going on in Israel.
 
Petranovic and Souza Kordyeur earned Minimum TES for short program at their very first performance at Warsaw Cup.
I am surprised and happy. Havent felt that way in a long time.
Many OES seasons for them and good luck in LP!
 
If being obskur means anything, it is not having an ISU biography.

One such skater, Alexandra Avitskaya (RUS) just earned herself a bronze medal at the latest Challenger Series event, the Warsaw Cup, with a score of 157.57.

Eliska Brezinova placed 27th with total score 99.61! :eek: I wonder what's going on.
 
What about Hanzlikova. She has the best scores this season among the CZE girls, (yeah I know that's nothing remarkable but still).

Every Czech lady currently sucks so that's no exception. Does Russia really need Pervushkina, or Sakhanovich, or Ogoreltseva, or Mikhailova? I am sure Czech Republic would love to have either of them.
