Given it is "Seattle" and the choices for "human candidate" are quite sad.... I'd vote for a dog, ANYTIME...

Although I don't know who the other two candidates are, I've no trouble believing that a canine at the helm would be better than many humans.

Yes, because IMO animals are in so many ways better than people - the dog in particular.

But if dogs were running the world, would we all have to sniff each other's butts as an appropriate greeting? Seems to work extremely well for canines.

There was a chimp from the Rio zoo "running" for mayor in 1988.
Voting those days was by paper/hand, and you could write the candidate name. If the name written wasn't on the official candidates list, the vote would be considered invalid.
If his voted counted, he would have been placed 3rd that election.

A similar situation had occurred in São Paulo in 1959, when a zoo rhyno ran for mayor.
