Hmmmm... I don't know if I agree with Jia beating Amber. I realize Amber's 3lo wasn't the cleanest, but Jia's just so effing bland, it's hard to justify her PCS.

Amber’s skate was better than her marks I thought. She seems to be paying the price of biffing worlds a bit right now. She will need to re earn some of that rep before the PCS go back up. Jia is lovely, but I don’t really think she should be beating Amber in PCS.

I’m guessing Amber also had some level issues as well looking at the TES. It seems low even for the loop issue.

But very nice for Jia to have a solid skate.

Well, just off the top of my head, I know Amber only had a L3 called on her step seq; can't recall the levels called on her spins, but if she didn't get L4s on all of them, that would be more than enough to make up the difference between a 2a & a 3a, especially after you factor in the 3lo that got negative GOE in real time for the iffy landing.

Agreed. Jia doesn’t respond to her music at all. She’s young and can develop it but while I do not think the juniorish label is fair for some young skaters, I do think it’s accurate for Jia at the moment. She certainly has several lovely qualities, though and very nice skating skills.
