Placeholder for Start Orders/Results:

The Entries have now been added.
So I tried to access the wedgie data page but kept getting dire warnings that the site is unsafe, very unsafe, extremely unsafe from the browser, my antivirus software etc. After the 3rd warning I stopped telling my browser to go ahead and access the page anyway.

They were more or less forced to withdraw as an American judge noticed that the song they use as their RD (Personal Jesus) is not from the 90s as required by the ISU, but from... 1989. That would have cost them 2 points. Personal Jesus was aired for the 1st time in August 1989 in the UK although the song is on the LP Violator, out in the spring of 90. I'm pretty sure that some other music used as RDs this season don't fit exactly into the framework but no one bother them (yet?). So Fournier-Beaudry/Cizeron have to change their music asap as their next competition is French GP if I'm not mistaken. It's in less than 3 weeks.

You know, it's not as if this isn't basic, commonly known information. It's literally the second sentence of the Wikipedia entry for the song - and when you type the song name up in the Wiki search bar, under the description it says "1989 single by Depeche Mode". This is poor research on the part of their team and not the fault of the American judge for correctly calling it out.

I'd love to know which other songs used for RDs by other teams you believe don't fit exactly into the framework as outlined by the IDTC.

I have had no warnings at all and the page is now looking ready to be fully "populated" - you can access the Entries but not yet the Start Orders.

I never said it was the judge's fault. I agree, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to use Bing or Google and IAM didn't do its homework which really is a shame for an Olympic season. I'm not too fond of IAM in case you never noticed...

Same song.

LOL - another IAM team! Someone really dropped the ball there. ;)

Are you sure it is the song they objected to? I was told it was the vogueing that was deemed not 90s. But it is very possible that my source misread that (it was in L‘Equipe they said?) I did find that believable as vogueing and Depeche Mode do not fit together at all, I thought, and found that it really was an ill match after watching a video from French Masters

If people had to throw away ice dance programmes every time someone thought the music and choreo did not fit, the discipline would implode immediately.

I talked with the author of the article in l'Equipe today and she said it was definitely the song. Vogueing not fitting the 90s would have been more logical.

Seen live it wasn't that ill matched as all the movements really stick to the rhythm. I was happily surprised although this RD wasn't totally ready and it really looked too much like Papadakis/Cizeron's waacking program.

One thing that is nice is the German announcer can really pronounce the languages. Though, I don`t know if her Finnish up to snuff.

For those who paid to watch the detailed schedule indicates that the Victory Ceremony for Women and Dance will take place at 1:30 p.m. EDT followed at 2 p.m. by an Exhibition.

The stream seems to be stopped at the moment but should return...
