Nathalie Pechalat out as President of FFSG

Well it won't matter much anyways now that P/C are probably done even with no Russians competing France has no contenders in any discipline now.

Figure skating in individual countries is usually much more than about the elite athletes.
And FFSG covers more than just figure skating - the fed oversees ALL ice skating sports - speed skating, short track, synchro, luge, bobsled, skeleton, curling, and some others that aren't Olympic sports.

Yes, I think it’s similar to how Chan and Rochette were named ambassadors of the Montreal Worlds in 2020. An honorary title perhaps, but still a privilege and an honor nevertheless.

Thank you for the article, @Nmsis.

I'm shocked that someone who was found to be complicit in the abuse of skaters can come back to power so easily. I thought that even Gailhaguet couldn't come back from this. The well-being of the skaters really counts for nothing, it seems.

Is the FFSG president reelected every other year than? Nathalie's term was too short.

I believe you'd say Surya Bonaly was chosen as the "patron" of the World Championships. It's the same French word for godmother.
Yes, that makes sense. I just didn't understand @cholla 's emoji and 'nice way to say thank you,' comment.

I would have automatically translated it "godmother" too and only realised a competition can't have a godmother when you didn't understand it.

I believe it is every 4 years. However, Pechelat only got 2 years because it was the continuation of the 2018-22 term (2018-20 with DG). I believe that this could have been also a factor: not having the whole 4 years to implement reforms and find time to build relationships.
