The local police office took 3 fotos and looks like 1 of the dresses is not full, but 2nd one is and so are the skates.. and no jewelry or any other items mentioned.

"I can't disclose where they were found," said San Francisco Police Officer Grace Gatpandan. "That's part of the confidential portion of the investigation."
The fact that the items are one of a kind made things easier.
"Due to the distinct nature of the items that were taken that definitely helps out in the investigation because you're looking for something so unique," Gatpandan added.

No, there is no insurance on the rental car that covers theft of your personal items from the car. And if they waived the extra insurance they (or their credit card/personal insurance) are liable for the broken window. Your personal car insurance might or might not cover the theft, it would depend on the policy etc....
 
Any updates on her situation? It's such a shame that stuff/nothing seems to have turned up. Her comment about how they wouldn't mean a fraction in terms of 'worth' to someone else vs. herself would have hopefully resonated

:huh: Her costumes and skates were found and returned to her. The post two above yours says so.
 
Glad she got most of her costume and stuff back.

I wonder if she will keep hating the "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" song, especially if she replaces "heart" with "Costume and Skates". I never heard of the song until I moved to the Bay Area. Apparently, my parents have the old Tony Bennett album.
 
The thief probably just took the ipad and ditched the rest. Maybe they will be able to track it with the find my ipad feature.
 
If her stuff was in suitcases, they would take them, root through them, take what was interesting and dump the rest. That's how I got all my dirty laundry back when my car was broken into and my suitcase was taken out of it when I was parked in SF after spending the night there. :lol:
