Love, Balls and Courting: Tennis V

I had no idea Raducanu was born in Toronto! Reminds me a bit of Mary Pierce who was born in Canada too (Montreal I believe), but moved away and played for France. And a bit of Greg Rusedski who played for Canada for so long but then switched to Great Britain and found his best success then.

I’m at work and can only see live stats, so if anyone could kindly give me their impressions on the Shapovalov, and the Auger Aliassime matches, that would be much appreciated, thanks!

Shapo looked really really solid, I was expecting RBA to put up much more of a fight! FAA looking more nervous but it's early days still.

I PVR'd all of the coverage today so that I can watch Shapo & FAA (only if they win of course) later tonight! My poor heart can't take the hours of drama unless I know my faves won. :) I think Shapo has become the first tennis player I fangirl since Mary Pierce - just love him!

Skating is so much easier to watch cause my heart only has to endure less than 5 mins of pain watching my faves LOL.

I have 5 TSN stations and you never know which one is going to be carrying the match you want to see, and you never know exactly when they are really going to be starting. I’ve given up on PVRing tennis but at least they will almost certainly replay Denis and Felix later tonight.

You're totally right! I discovered this last week when I tried to PVR Wimbledon on 1 of the TSN stations, only to have it airing on another TSN station even though I have all 5. Then I was successful in PVR'ing Shapo vs. Murray but coverage ran past the scheduled time so I missed the last 3 games! Thankfully there is also the option to watch online after the fact.

That drives me crazy too, especially during the Australian Open. I share the PVR with my parents and certainly don’t have the space for 8+ hours recording (during early rounds) over three TSN stations. :wall:

Good that there are some archives, thanks!

But fair warning if you’re trying to avoid spoilers - I clicked on the July 2 prime time link and got taken to a page with the Shapovalov result from earlier today directly below the video. Would be difficult to avoid seeing.

I don't even follow tennis but I just wanted to note that I'm very happy that there's an all-Aussie match in the Wimbledon quarter-finals tonight! Here's hoping the #BartyParty rolls on for the 50th anniversary of Evonne Goolagong Cawley's first win. :)

Stuck at work again, any impressions of the Shapovalov and Auger Aliassime matches would be appreciated, thanks!!

Well besides them not playing one another as was posted by someone, Denis is playing well enough; splitting 1st 2 sets with Khachanov! Felix won't be playing the Italian, Barrittini until later! Djokovic won 1st set against Fucsovics! Federer on CC after Nole's match vs Hurkacz! :40beers:

DENISSSSS!!! Wooooooo!!! Ugh and of course TSN is showing Novak and Roger :( Hoping I can watch it tonight on Primetime or on TSN online.
