Let's Talk Movies #36 - 2020 - Yep it is a new decade

Me a fanatic?! Just because I’ve seen most MCU movies several times?! hehehe :slinkaway
I've only watched them twice. Once when they came out (except The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton which I skipped because I wasn't a fan of that character) and then later in timeline order right before End Game.

I may do that again right before Doomsday.

Rotten Tomatoes - Project Hail Mary

I’m getting excited - I’ll be seeing this tonight in IMAX. 😃

Well, I did see Project Hail Mary last night. Being that we are still in its opening weekend, I’ll put my review in spoiler.

Are you a science fiction comedy fan? Do you love Ryan Gosling’s work? Did you like The Martian (novel is also by Andy Weir)? Then you’ll like this film!

If, however, you are bothered by watching multiple flashbacks, you may not like this film.

I give this film an 8.7/10. I thought that the cinematography, visual effects, sound, and editing were superb. And few can perform comedy in serious situations like Ryan Gosling can.

One nickpick - and it’s a big deal enough for me that I can’t rate this film 9.0+ like what’s in Rotten Tomatoes right now - is while the friendship between Dr. Grace and Rocky is superbly done 🥺, the film could have done a much better job of explaining how Dr. Grace didn’t have any friends on Earth. And he’s chosen to stay with Rocky on his new planet because he has friends there. The novel does a much better job of explaining this. The film just shows Dr. Grace……just staying where he is for now.

Holy Days

I'm always up for a quirky rom-com. Years ago I loved discovering "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist." This preview, set in Manchester, has that same sort of feel. Finding Emily
