I have gone for 104 row E :)

I’m confused.... am I meant to be able to download it onto my phone? I assume they don’t physically post tickets these days?

What time is the gala likely to be on the Sunday? I am wondering if I could fly home that night, or would need to stay over....

Does anyone happen to know if AA-FF are the front rows, and then row A is the 7th row up in some sections. I looked on the Orleans Arena website and it looks like there are 6 rows in the lower section. I called the arena last night near closing time and they weren't very helpful.

The first six rows closest to the ice are Row AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, and FF. After that, it starts with Row A, Row B, etc.

I will be in section 105 row C. There were not any seats available for rows AA-EE in this section so I'm hoping that I will still have a good view from row C.

I'm thinking that on the judges side, they probably took out the bottom rows for the judges stand. When I was on there, row A seemed to be the lowest row available in 104 and the other sections on that side.

When I purchased it said that tickets will be mailed.

This was my thinking as well looking at the available rows and pricing. In any case, I love sitting behind the judges so it will be great!

Hi Folks!

This is my first post here. My best friend and I just bought tickets to Skate America and we're super thrilled. It'll be my first time seeing live skating. My friend has been to quite a few events before and even met Karen Kwan!

We have some questions about Las Vegas. Is it safe to stay at a hotel on the Strip? We heard the Strip isn't as seedy as other parts of Vegas, but I'm a little concerned. And do the casinos still allow people to smoke cigarettes? Walking through a smoky casino is not ideal, especially late at night.

Finally, we come from an area that doesn't have Uber or Lyft. We have heard horror stories about people getting into dangerous situations, but someone else said those services are cheaper than taxis. Renting a car is also a possibility. Any expert tips from people who have dealt with these situations in the past?

Thanks a million!!

My family lives out in Vegas. IMO, the Strip is completely safe, and I'm generally a paranoid person when it comes to stuff like that.

Yes. The only smoke-free places you'll find in casinos are the poker rooms. (This is the worst part about Vegas!)

Uber and Lyft are very cheap and convenient. You should be fine travelling in a pair. If you're alone, just be safe about your driver. Make sure the license plates match up, and ask your driver for his/her name and make sure it matches what the app says.

I have used Uber as a solo female and have not had a problem. The app provides the car make, color, license number, driver photo, driver name. It shows me where the car is. I am vigilant about making sure of this. I then allow someone I know to follow my phone and there is an emergency button on the app you can press.

I also never drink much if I know I am taking Uber by myself. I would do the same if walking or taking a taxi solo, so not much different.

It's off-strip that you have to worry IME. The only bad part of walking on The Strip is that tons of people will try to get you to buy things. :D

I do think there are non-smoking casinos but they are not the norm. Part of why I am not actually a big fan of Vegas is all the cigarette smoke.

Finally, we come from an area that doesn't have Uber or Lyft. We have heard horror stories about people getting into dangerous situations, but someone else said those services are cheaper than taxis. Don't rent a car. Taxis are still pretty cheap (just not as cheap as Uber/Lyft) and Uber/Lyft are perfect for tourists who tend to travel in packs. :D Also, there is lots of stuff happening on The Strip that you can walk to. And there is a monorail you can take as well that connects various properties on The Strip. (And shuttles that connect to it?)

If you rent a car, most likely you'll have to pay for parking as well as car rental. The only time we have a car in Vegas is if we drive there. But once we do that, the car usually stays in the hotel parking lot unless we want to do something off The Strip.

I've never been to a competition, other than the US Classic where you could sit where ever the mood took you. It seems like most of you are sitting about halfway back - is that based on price, view, nearness to the concessions? I want to choose wisely and would appreciate any advice.

I am also in row F on the judges side, not realizing AA, etc. However, I am fine with this- row 11 works. I have not been to a Skate America since 2002, do they still let you sit anywhere at practice? I do like front row at practice.

As far as I know, you can generally sit anywhere during practices, although sometimes they'll have some sections cordoned off. That has more to do with how much security staffing the arena may have during practices.
