Here for the FS - kind of dozed off and was half awake for Wood/Lapsky. Their score is an improvement over JGP Czechia, so good for them!

Sitkova/Kubacak - black sheer tops with red underneath. Twist and throws look to be a struggle. Have they been dealing with injury? They seemed more promising last season. Very slow and, God, this sound is awful. Bio doesn't show their FS music - there's some of "Seven Nation Army" in this mix and their speed picks up to that music. His leg seemed to randomly collapse out behind him as he hits his ending position, but I don't think he completely fell, lol.

Regnier/Nandrot - royal blue dress for her - loose cap sleeves and v-neck for her - no bling; white dress shirt with royal blue bowtie hanging undone off his collar. "I Hear a Symphony" by Cody Fry and she's down on the throw 2s and Mark says that he may be injured and this team really wants me to sleep through the rest of their program, don't they?

Whoa. Totally slept through McDanold/Felberbaum but Ted & Mark are both very complimentary. Lovely blue dress that ombres from midnight blue to dusty blue for him, her dress goes from a navy blue to a light blue - the blues are not the same and this disturbs me.

I totally blame Regnier/Nandrot for actually putting me to sleep.

Polman/Renoldi - still skating to POTC. Soooooo slow. Oh, that was a nice throw 3s about two-thirds into this program. Why do teams ever end on a pairs combo spin????? There's no pirate to their POTC program still.

Scotti/Quesada Grau - nice 2tw to open; dear God... all this slow music is going to knock me right back to sleep again. Good 2f+1a+1a seq. All of their elements are lower tech but clean and nicely done.

Damn, but I'm exhausted. Dozed off again. Sounds like NapoComi really struggled. Oooooo - two lift fails. Ouch. Love their costumes. Ted is NOT happy with how she handled herself at the end of the program.

ETA - honestly, I get it. She was still pouting, arms crossed when their marks came up. She may very well be related to Skary Babs - and at the jr level, that's not really a funny FSU compliment.

Heckova/Valky - another program with plenty of struggles. It would be nice if any of these teams could shake off the weird energy surrounding this competition phase so far.

Nutcracker for next US pair, H/Ch…hopefully without a switch to hip-hop beat! Messy end but I like them.

Hansen/Church - "The Nutcracker" - yup, his costume is very Nutcracker soldier; her dress is icy blue that ombres to grey on the skirt hem and arm cuffs. They were skating okay right until the very end there and he was just too exhausted and the lift came down with a B level call. They do have good potential. It will be interesting to see how they do next week in Slovenia.

Shimizu/Honda - FFS - More Cody Fry? I did nothing to deserve a o'dark-hundred experience like this. Meh 2tw; tiny throw 3S; SBS 3z+2a+2a excellent; fall on the barely-any-throw-there throw 2f; and he goes down on the SBS 3t; I'm trying to stay awake again and I thought I was fairly awake before their music came on, but dang... That will put them into the lead - mostly based on that SBS jump seq because the rest was... Eh.

EhrPell - crashy 3tw; SBS 2a+1a+1a - she was swingy on the landing of the 2a but got the rest under control; fall on the throw 3lo; SBS 2s fine; this music is terrible and making my ears bleed and I blame this effin' "ambient arena" sound feed BS, effin' get the music rights issues figured out, ISU! That program is going to put them well behind the Japanese, which does not surprise me one bit.

FlorWang - still hate these costumes - the skirt is way too much and heavy for her and the colors are terrible. Nice 3tw; SBS 2a+1a+2a eh; SBS 3s good! Eeek - that first lift came down early - makes me wonder if there's an injury issue... And she falls on the throw 3lo. Decent death spiral and pairs combo spin; much better second lift but struggling on the dismount a bit; throw 3s clean! Good choreo sequence to end but this program is a dud compared to their Star Wars FS from last season.

Though I hate to say it, I think I see what someone (was it you, @Karen-W?) was saying yesterday about Olivia's growth spurt becoming a problem. It's such a shame, because she and Luke are so good together.

Someone else implied it and while I don't discount that as a potential reason for their problems, I'm not 100% that is what's going on. These costumes are so unattractive and make her look a lot bigger than I'm sure she is, plus there has never been a big size difference between them.

Yeah, I'm thinking there has got to be an injury issue rather than a growth spurt issue here. They scored much better at Glacier Falls and their issues here are more typical of what you'd expect with a shoulder or arm injury for him.

DesThra - nice 3tw; step out on the throw 3lo; SBS 2a+1a+2a - kind of messy; that lift did not look solid at all based on the camerawork; SBS 2s - throwing points away; pointless/lame choreo seq; good death spiral; throw 3s - she stumbles and then falls on the landing; good second lift which will be enough to secure the gold but they're another team that's just sort of plateauing.

I can see how Desrochers/Thrasher are getting the points, but everything is always so endlessly messy. I'd rather watch Wood/Lapsky again.

Not a high point in the history of Pairs skating. Thank goodness that the Canadians won, compared to others. I preferred the Japanese overall.
