What in the world are CarPon and GrePar? I've been watching skating for almost fifteen years and half of the posts on this site include things that I would need a PhD in clique slang to understand.

Carreira and Ponamarenko & Green and Parsons.

We've gone with these kinds of shortenings over initials. You can figure it out whereas if someone writes G&P or G/P for Green & Parsons, you don't know if they mean Green & Parsons or Gilles & Poirier except for the context.

Its actually not so hard to figure if you are looking at the entry lists for an event and someone is using those shortenings to talk about the teams in the event.

Yeah, Green/Parsons isn't a big deal, but when, say, Ramanauskaite and Kizala are skating, abbreviations are a godsend.
