Interview with Scott Moir; Virtue/Moir to be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in December

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (Sports and Athletics) – The most decorated figure skaters in Olympic history. They have won the hearts and minds of people across Canada and around the world with their athleticism, artistry, and chemistry on the ice.

Inductions will be held at the Canada’s Walk of Fame Awards show at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on December 1, 2018, followed by a 20th Anniversary Gala celebration to be held at the Fairmont Royal York. The show will be broadcast in December on CTV.
Established in 1998, Canada’s Walk of Fame (CWOF – Charitable Registration Number 889896924RR0001) celebrates Canadians who have excelled in their respective fields, and inspires the next generation.

Peter Soumalias is the Founding Director of Canada’s Walk of Fame who launched the organization in 1998 along with co-founders Bill Ballard, Dusty Cohl and Gary Slaight.

To date, Canada’s Walk of Fame has 173 inductees, each immortalized with their names forever cemented into the sidewalks of Toronto’s Entertainment District.

“I can’t believe this is real life. This is such a huge honour,” said Moir. “We can’t believe we have a Walk of Fame star, and we’re pretty excited about it.”
Virtue said she hopes her and Moir’s 21-year partnership on the ice has inspired a new generation of Canadian athletes.
“The thing with the Olympic movement and sport, in general, is that there’s always another story, another athlete coming that is even more inspiring and is giving more to the Canadian public,” said Virtue. “We’re so lucky to be a part of something bigger.”

The 29-year-old Olympian looked Hollywood ready as she arrived on the red carpet of the annual awards celebration at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto.
Virtue wore an emerald green gown by Spanish designer, Yolancris, and a pink ostrich feather jacket by Fox the Label. The London, Ont. native previously wore the gown on a recent cover of Real Style magazine, and teased fans on Twitter that she was saving the look, which she calls her “favourite dress ever,” for a special occasion.
