For the past 3 years, I purchased my healthcare from the ACA. This year my job was taken over and the new ownership is providing affordable healthcare. I keep getting emails that the deadline to renew is approaching. Do I need to notify them that I will not be renewing? I can’t seem to find a link on the website to change my status.

Are you now covered by your new plan? When I switched plans a few years ago I did not notify my old plan. The old plan will realize it when they do not receive your premium payment. After about 60 days the old plan sent me a cancellation notice.

You should call so they can turn off billing (and avoid being flagged for non-payment) as well as confirm your mailing address so you can get you tax statement as well as your Certificate of Creditable coverage.

And @judiz How are you doing?

Yay for affordable healthcare! Yes, agree with Aceon6 that you should notify your insurance carrier that you have now obtained alternate coverage and are canceling your plan. If your state is like mine, your insurance carrier will automatically renew you at whatever exorbitant price your plan has gone up to if you take no action before Dec 15.

I hope you and your son are doing OK.
