That is quite a video, @Eden. It reminds me of a line I read recently, something like, "Throw a handful of Jews in the middle of a desert and it's no longer a desert." What an amazing country, and people. Happy 68th, Israel!

Israel's birthday is always celebrated according to the Hebrew calendar, not the Gregorian one.
It is either on the 5th of the month of Iyar or on one of the preceding or following days, depending on which day of the week 5th of Iyar falls on.
It is usually between middle of April to middle of May.
Last year we celebrated it on April 23rd, and next year we'll do it on May 2nd.

I am happy and honored that I shared my birthday with Israel this year. I visited that country in 1994. It was a business trip but I was surprised by the warmth shown by the business people and others too. There was plenty of free time, so I was able to do sightseeing in all except the southern part of the country. I even visited the Gaza strip. I was amazed by Israel. Loved it.
