Gubanova jump technique

I was especially aware at these Olympics of Gubanova's arm positions as she goes into jumps. She created a sort of circle with both arms, then swung them in the direction she wanted to rotate. Maybe lots of skaters do this, but her technique is just more noticeable?

Is this a form of pre-rotation, or is this just a variation on standard correct jump technique?

It's not a form of pre-rotation, it's just a technique that's probably pretty specific to her and developed over time likely to help her keep her arms and shoulders in control and where she can feel them. I'm guessing she had issues with her check and arm timing when she started developing her triples ,and this was the solution she and her coaches found worked best for her.
