Glamour Puss thread: Sephora, I wish I could quit you...

That's what I've been using. It's $39 both at Ulta and Sephora. I've also started using their "Confidence in a Cream" moisturizer. I love both and no issues with my sensitive skin.

I like IT mascara, too.

Oh, God, I love this cosmetic's thread! My sister & I live together & while I am a cosmetics addict, she doesn't use any at all (!!) so this is where I come for consultation advice. :D

After spending too much on Dior Hydra Life BB cream, now discontinued, I decided to give the reformulated Neutrogena Healthy Skin anti-aging perfector a try. Amazeballs! It’s not as thick as I remembered and still has SPF. I’m lucky that color 20 is nearly perfect for my skin. And it’s $17!

I respect those who like wearing makeup, but it's so cool to not even think about ruining it while rubbing your eyes :)

I tried make-up when I was much younger and had an allergic reaction to it. I basically gave up, and did not explore hypo-allergenic alternatives.

I tried it again some years later, and found that I just felt that I had paint on my face and couldn't breathe.

So I am still make-up free at 60. I might put on some foundation and lipstick when I go out for an evening, but that is about it.

However, I do feel like a hillbilly.

I went to Sephora today to use a birthday gift card.

I picked up the new Farmacy Melting Cleansing Balm in cherry.

I hope it’s good. The green one works excellently so cross fingers for the cherry.

I also picked up a refill of the Anastasia Beverley Hills brow gel I use.

The sales lady rang me in and then told me that I only need to spent another $270 before December 31 to qualify for VIB Rouge. :shuffle:

There is a new hourglass face palette coming out for the holidays that I know I want and I am seriously considering stocking up on skincare so I can qualify for Rouge for the first time.

:saint:

I came close to Rouge once, but never quite made it. I'm always safely VIB, though.

The Huda Faux Filter foundation combined with the primer lasts all day. it's even a bit difficult to get off with soap and water. I love it.

Yeah, I was just informed that I need to spend $207 to reach rouge. Easy Peasy! :saint:

I don't use any cosmetics either, but my dry skin is my biggest problem, so I have to apply some Mango Butter (which I buy here cause once I purchased it at some store and it was awful and I had an allergic reaction). I respect those who like wearing makeup, but it's so cool to not even think about ruining it while rubbing your eyes :)

You shouldn't rub you eyes. I have multiple ophthalmologists who can explain why.

I've recently really enjoyed Drunk Elephant skincare.

Since I need to get my Sephora b-day gift anyway, I told my mom I wanted a Sephora gift card as a b-day present. I decided on getting 'the midi committee' gift set, all things that are interesting which I haven't tried.

It's not all of my parents gift card, so now I'm trying to figure out what else to get. A luxury problem. I might get the Drunk Elephant serum I'm already using, but it might also be fun to try something new.

any recent favorites from anyone?

@maatTheViking They're starting to advertise their sampler sets. I’m waiting for Lashstash, but there might be others that you’d enjoy. Most come with a coupon for a full size.

I had corrective eye surgery about 30 years ago so I would no longer need to wear glasses at all. My friend desperately wanted it done as well but because she had been rubbing her eyes for so many years, she had created a situation with her eyes that excluded her from corrective eye surgery.

I LOVE Drunk Elephant. :cheer2:

The Retro Whipped Lala facial moisturizer is my all time favourite. :swoon:

I also really like the vitamin C eye cream (although I’ve read other reviews from folks who didn’t.)

I adore the Lip Balm too (but it is a bit pricey for a lip balm.)

I’ve not used the Vitamin C Day Serum or the Framboise Glycolic Serum but I hear they are excellent.

It's that time of year again! :cheer2:

Yes, I will be buying stuff. :glamor:

I have my eye on the new Hourglass Holiday Face Palette and some of the Fenty beauty lipgloss sets.

I’d better hurry up and do inventory! DH has a medical appt on Friday so we’ll be near the mall. I need to find a new foundation as the YSL Touché Eclat just isn’t working for me.

Yep. And that's a small problem comparatively. Wearing mascara isn't the only reason to not rub your eyes. It's a bad habit that can have damaging consequences.

Ooooh, if I can make my foundation last until the 7th.....

Today’s Sephora email features a $549 Dyson hair styler. Who spends five hundred forty nine dollars on a hair styler? Certainly no one I know needs to be that tiffed.

It’s supposed to dry hair more quickly so yeah a couple hairstylists I know bought one, to turn over clients faster.
But Sephora knows I’m not a hair stylist. Given the state of AI nowadays, they should be able to promote things I’m going to click on. Fail!

Wah ? I ran out of all of my beloved Drunk Elephant Whipped Retro Lala moisturizer. :duh:

And I’m trying to hold off buying more until the Nov 7th sale.

I have tons of samples of different moisturizers I can used in the meantime but it’s just not the same.:wuzrobbed

It will be a long week. :drama:

(First World Problems....I know....):saint:

I ordered a lipstick from Necromancy Cosmetica called Naked Witch. I'm super excited to try it; I saw a model wearing it on some random ad on Facebook.

Revlon also had some Halloween shades, and I'm currently in lurve with Corpse Bride. I hope it's available under another name the rest of the year. Also the tube is gorgeous, all skulls and roses.

My friend just did ?. She’s a DINK with no debt and a ton of cash to burn.
She had really thick curly hair and she said it dried in 10 minutes and looked great. The stylist I used when I had my engagement pictures done had one and it was sooooo nice. But I personally cannot justify it!

I just loaded my basket for tomorrow's VIB sale. I decided to try the Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere foundation as a lot of people think it's similar to Dior Star. We will see. I added the Lashstash, a Kat von D brow brush (to replace the flimsy one that comes with Clinique brow powder), and a Dr Gross sampler so I'd have travel sizes for Montreal. Threw in a Vice lipstick in Backtalk so I wouldn't have to remember to put one in my gym bag.

I'll probably go back later today and make sure that there aren't any other travel sizes I'm missing.

I have my basket loaded and ready to go too. I hope nothing sells out by tomorrow.

My list:
Hourglass Ghost Ambient Lighting Face Palette (Holiday 2019 release)
Fenty Gloss Bomb multiple set Holiday 2019 release
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche mini lipstick Holiday 2019 set
Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins Face cream
Drunk Elephant Lala Whipped Retro Moisturizer.

I don't expect I will buy the lipgloss, the lipstick, and the Night-A-Mins.

At least one of those will be dropped. Not sure which one(s) yet thought.

I really like the Night-A-Mins as it has AHAs and glycolic acid in it but still have some glycolic acid pads to use up at home before I need to purchase more exfoliating stuff.

My priorities are the Hourglass Face Palette and the Drunk Elephant moisturizer.

Decisions.....decisions....

I've been sooooo good about curbing the makeup habit because we've had so many expenses this year (and on the way), but this sale is perfect timing because I am so low on my makeup. My basket has:

  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
  • Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara OR the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara (still deciding)
  • The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension in Silicone
  • The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

I may get a couple of things for my mom in an attempt to regain Rouge status :shuffle:

@skategal Is there a potential Santa in your life? Half of my stuff is for under the tree.

Haha yes there is. However my Santas (more than 1) don’t usually like to give me Sephora/makeup because they don’t approve of my makeup addiction.:drama:

Also we are going to Florida soon and I know I will be looking for Christmas gifts for myself during that trip so..... :shuffle: :saint:

A first... nothing in my basket is sold out. Also, the shipment time seems better. It used to take them up to 10 days, but my order should arrive much sooner.

Nothing in mine was sold out either. :cheer2:

I passed on getting the Fenty Gloss Bomb set in favour of the mini Bite Beauty lipsticks. I didn’t think I needed both.

And I passed on getting the Origins Night-A-Mins.

I didn’t mind skipping it because I was able to get a deluxe sample of Sunday Riley Good Genes lactic acid serum (so same idea) by redeeming 100 points.

I still need to spent just over another $100 by December 31 to qualify for Rouge.

My friend usually gives me a Sephora gift card for Christmas so it’s a possibility for sure.

Sigh. Sephora really pisses me off sometimes. Once again, the rewards bazaar offered and opportunity to convert points to cash credit, and once again it made it to my basket but when I went to check out, it was "sold out." This is not a product, it can't be sold out. And this happens every time. And otherwise the rewards have been sucking for some time - I have a ton of points and nowhere to spend them. Most of the time I don't even take the free samples anymore.

I'm seriously considering paying the extra 20% directly to Charlotte Tilbury - her site is great, the prices are equal to both stores and Sephora online, shipping is pretty much instant with no shipping charges ever. Arrives in a lovely box, like it's Christmas every time you order.
